The beers keep on arriving! This is box #2 from @snaotheus More bigger beers in this round with some stouts and barleywines dominated and mixed with some lagers. Plus a cool knit cap. And TWO MORE MYSTERY BEERS. Fun drawings and commentary on the paper.

    Thank you!!

I have got my work cut out for me, but Im up for the challenge! Ill be back momentarily with my first beer for the evening.

Oh no! I've never had one explode from heat yet, but I'll upgrade my packaging accordingly for a follow up box.

I know those cold IPAs you've had already and I recall you saying you wished you'd had more, granted!

Like @Roguer I do add beers that I don’t even try. I feel it’s good for the community and hood for the establishment.

Hitting the mystery beer received this morning courtesy of @russpowell:

My pour was incompetent. I somehow put too much pressure on the side of the can while attempting to pop the top and keep the label on, and wound up spilling a little down the side.

Poured into a shaker pint glass, this was a cloudy and orangey shade of amber, with a pretty good sized off-white head. Nice lace. 4.25

Nice, citrusy and melon-y hop aroma. 3.75

Sweet, fruity taste up front, with a little undercurrent of bitterness. Like the nose, the prevailing flavor is of citrusy fruits and melon, maybe a bit of mango. 4.0

Medium bodied, with a nice, soft, creamy mouth feel. 4.0

I'm guessing this is some sort of hazy IPA, though it could also be a pale ale. The distinction anymore is hard to verbalize. Definitely a hazy version of either, that for sure, and a very easy drinking one at that. 4.0

    Yep.

That 7.2% abv is not remotely present in the taste. A few of these and I'm on my ass!

Thanks, Russ! I have now officially had a beer from Arkansas, and it was a tasty one!

To emphasize why I think this is helpful, I was at Fox Farm today and a few beers available had not been added. I already don't prefer reviewing on my phone, but now I had to find the beer, discover it wasn't in the database, add it, and then review it - if I felt up to it at that point.

Another aspect that I think others might not consider is that non-mods cannot add notes when adding a beer. Notes must be submitted and approved by a mod. But as a mod, I can add a beer complete with notes.

So in addition to having to add beers to the database and then review them (with my phone, ugh), I also encountered a bunch of beers today where the notes weren't added. That's much easier to do on the computer than on phone (although not terrible via phone). If I (or another mod) added that beer, no one else has to worry about submitting those notes for review.

I guess this is really a dual-post in favor of adding beers even if you're not reviewing them at that time, and reviewing beers using a computer. :grinning:

The inspiration for that round naturally came from rounds previous, including some rather curious peninsula-inspired hints (I believe @BBThunderbolt was responsible for quite a bit of that, IIRC), and a ninja package I received (from @JayORear I'm pretty sure) that involved a rather explosive can that, well, ninjad my package while I was unwrapping the box.

    Straight to the nards.

Wolfman's got nards. So does sandwich delivery dude. Or at least I did before that event. :stuck_out_tongue:
