I was the last poster on yesterday’s thread over an hour ago, and I’m still awake after a Waldos’ and Tango and Cash on IFC (movie nerds like me should love how they show a Peters and Guber film on the Independent Film Channel), so I’m starting today’s thread, if that’s cool with everyone.

Hoping this one puts me to sleep. Happy Sunday, virtual bar brethren, and let’s all enjoy a beer thread about beer and nothing else, no matter what side we fall on in an argument.

    Cheers!

Hey @mschrei , been a crazy 48 hours in our city. Listening to Blues Before Sunrise, decided to open a beer and hopefully catch some sleep til noon, and then grab a beef or other solid Chicago Style sammich. Based on your comments about keeping it beer related, hope yesterday's WBAYDN thread didn't fail. There are more ongoing / current threads based on the title alone are likely worthy of a drain pours. If people want to fight, do the right thing and take it to Comiskey Park II.

Didn't plan on it being an all Revolution Weekend, but it looks very likely with a new to me beer sitting in my refrigerator for later today. Back to over 300 beers again, though I may still buy a final six pack of these since it's the last chance. This beer is incredible, so sad others beyond our city won't be able to enjoy this in the future (scheduled to be draft room draft only, no more cans). :slight_frown:

They’re discontinuing canning this one, J? Say it ain’t so! That was my first Revolution beer, and other than their barrel aged program, it may honestly be my favorite. I’ll have to try to find a last sixer.

And WBAYDN is never a drain pour worthy thread, as the denizens know what we’re here for: BEER!

Yes, they co-released A Little Crazy and Repo Man six packs this Winter (Repo was local only 4 X 16) and plan on just releasing Repo Man next Winter.

It was either my first or second (Anti-Hero the other). My youngest brother introduced it to me and it has remained my favorite seasonal. Tried sending a case to him in Vegas through The Beer Temple, but they confirmed they cut many states out of their shopping range. Hope you can find a six pack or tree before it's gone but not forgotten.

    Per their email news letter:

    You may now flip.

OK. Since many | some | hardly any of you are wondering what occurred this Sunday afternoon in Shibuya, Tokyo, here is the response.
To not burying the lead for once; I got in. It actually sold me a ticket. Waving the ¥5,000 note procured the desired response, puncturing the language barrier.
For having only twenty collaboration beers available, the selections were quite profound.
The ten-ticket offer (150 mL) was the way to go at this. Additional beers, and | or paying more for extending beers deemed 'on offer', was unadvised. You would have had to queue up at the tap room handles for the beers. That would take up time.
The flaw for this beer festival was that the beers in the lower numbers positions [e.g. #s1-10] sold out swifter than the remnants [#s11-20].
The physical space for the fest was also eyebrow-raising. All the beers were on floor #4. But some of the food vendors, and much of the space where one could set down his | her plastic cup, which was intended to last you through the session, were on floors #5 & #6.:astonished:
My favorite beer was #11 - the RISE & WIN Brwg + Hair of the Dog Brwg. Bock to the Future. Not just because it is one of Alan's last release anywhere; but because it was a solid 6½% ABV pale bock beer. I had two of these. Because the lower-numbered beers had been depleted for the session.
    If you have the 'Collabolation List' from this - the beers I had were #s 1, 5, 6, 11(x2), 15, 16, 17, 18, 20.
I managed to manuever myself from the Shibuya Tokyo Metro Ginza Line Shibuya station to Shibuya Stream Hall without surfacing {weather was truly wacky - it was bright when I queued up for this, but then there was a sudden shower, and then the shower perservered despite the sun shining.} to the Aldgate Pub in another area of Shibuya-ku. Relievingly, although I had not checked its opening hours, on Sunday- it does not open until 17:00 hours. I managed to arrive at the premises at 17:07.:beer:
I am currently enjoying a Iwatekura Red Ale on handpump (5% - 473 mL- ¥1,100) at the Aldgate. If you are in the area {Am I crazy?! Well, yes, but then the Portland OR brewers serving at this beer festival may seek a beer bar to hit after the festival ends. This would be the one suggested.}, I will be here for awhile. I have run out of PQRS, Ltd. business cards.:open_mouth:
On Monday, I will go to BeerClub Popeye one more time.:beers:

[IMG] I grabbed this on accident yesterday. I thought it was DDH King Sue and it was really fresh. I was disappointed, but this is as good as a NEAPA gets. Great stuff, cheers.

Rise & shine, BA's! We've experienced a 50° temperature swing here in the Cedar Valley over a scant two days. With temps in the mid-30's, rain, wind, and possible snow in the forecast, I think a hearty breakfast is in order. Let's start things off with some French Toast Bastard. Yeah, that's the ticket! Carpe diem!

Good morning BAs! I’ve been up since 4:30am and just getting around to my coffee - “The Awakening” Coffee Stout by Angry Chair Brewing, Tampa FL:

Canned 3/9/23. Poured at 52°. A milk stout with coffee, vanilla beans and lactose. Purchased out of the brewery’s cooler on Friday. Strong coffee nose and taste. Working on my NBW notes, so full review there in a bit.

I’m going to pull the RV out of storage this afternoon and begin getting it ready for my drive to Sheboygan! Tomorrow the camper gets 2 new tires to compliment the 2 I got last year. Looking forward to my upcoming road trip. Cheers and have a sociable Sunday y’all!

It’s 9 am. I am smoking a pork butt so I’ve had a FW Psychedelic arcade, Union Jack IPA, and an original recipe Ruination. Think I’ll chill out until later when I’m going to bust out the Bigfoot

Good day BAs! Thanks @mschrei for getting us started - wish we had IFC in this area! And @pudgym29 ! I can't even imagine going to a beerfest in Japan - those in Murica are screwed up enough for me. You got balls brother!

Looks like another beautiful day today, currently 58F/14C, sunny and dry. Another day to do pre-emptive yard work. The rain has been rescheduled for tomorrow. Mrs. Lizard might return today so the quilting crap in her car will sit there another millennium - no room to bring it back into the house into her quilting cave.

Today's New Breakfast Beer is one I bought off my local beer purveyor's outdated/cheap table - that's the only way I buy brews from Voodoo:

Decent middle-of-the-porter/stout-spectrum beer, but certainly nobody's concept of an imperial stout. A bit over carbonated but has a good flavor and aroma, albeit a bit simplistic. I would not be embarrassed to Beer It Forward (Although not this round!). Rating 3.9, rDev -1.3%

    Good morning BAs
Damp and dreary today after almost a week of spring/summer temps.

I’m supposed to be cooking breakfast for our company but my wife and the twin sisters drank 3 bottles of wine last night and I don’t think they are getting up anytime soon.

...re: Hair of The Dog -- I did get an email from Alan that he may do another batch of Don plus a few collaborations, otherwise, what beers they have on their web site looks like the last available (unless he releases some of his personal stash, which he said was a possibility)...his email text below (and, unfortunately, the 'Don that is available now' is long gone):

I haven’t brewed since June and there won’t be new beers except for possibly another batch of Don and some collaborations I have planned with other brewers. I also may release some from my personal stash, like the Don that is available now
