New Beer Weekend #143

Hello Late Night NBW.
I had a long working weekend, but found a new to me brewery (very small) in the hotel. So time to tick, as well as add it to the data base.

City Lights IPA by Bonaventure Brewing at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in LA.

On tap at the Westin Bonaventure.
Pours a pretty enough straw to gold in hue. Slight, white head rises a finger and slowly tapers off to a minuscule ring. Barely discernible lacing.
Smell has a nice citrus zest, a tad of grass, but overall subdued.
Flavor is a smooth ride of mild grassy notes with a ever so light hint of orange rind.
Mouthfeel is on the lighter side, medium carbonation, fairly crisp but slightly dry-to- bitter in the finish.
Overall, for a small operation this is a decent offering but nothing really sets it apart.

Tried a few others as well, all were decent.
Saw the small brewing room in a little glass "hothouse" looking building just outside the bar area. Tight little facility. I'd be happy to try a few more whenever I get back this way.

 

I *think* it was more joking because I didn't straighten my rack like the military folks did, than a judgment against me. I think we worked well together.
