    Today is Patriots' Day and Marathon Monday in Massachusetts.

    Good day BAs! Awesome start to the new week - thanks @Doctor Zombies for starting us off today! It's currently 43 F/6 C and expecting scattered rain showers today. Off the the tax man in a couple of hours - usually done well before now but with travel and interminable respiratory conditions this year, we're running a bit late. and the to the appliance store to bitch about the new dishwasher that has some internal hinge problems.

    And to top it off, today's New Breakfast Beer turns out to be a re-review on one that has the incorrect nomenclature in BA (Correction submitted):

    Good morning to all and firstly thanks to @RaulMondesi and his wife (and Raulita!) for the invitation in early September this year for their French wedding!

    I’m in and so is my own partner.

    I put the card in the background out of obvious respect for their little one, and themselves too.

    Be Hoppy IPA, 6.5% - a near perfect IPA, right up there with White Rajah! It has the same soft grapefruit dominance carried by an Italian bread-crust malt flavor. Superb! :slight_smile:

    Nursing a foot injury from hiking a few days ago. So there I was walking along in the wildlife refuge, when suddenly a slither in the leaves right next to me caught my attention. I'm not afraid of snakes, I always stop and talk to them, but it surprised me. As I looked back over my shoulder I stepped on a root and rolled the arch of my foot. Standing there, wincing in pain, I saw the slither came from a chipmunk! Merde! :slight_smile:

    Next dentists appointment for me is later this year. Dude is an absolute blast and a funny character.

    Last I saw him was nearly two years ago right during Covid eerie times and when I got on the chair I asked him where should I put my face mask.

    To which he replied: “wherever you want, your belly or your trousers bulge no one will mind here”.

    I like my dentist. Plus unlike some twenty more years ago it’s nowhere as painful these days.

    From a can.
    This beer pours pitch black - nothing shines through when held up to the light. The head is 2 finger, brown in color, and frothy looking with smaller bubbles. The head retention is quite good, and there's some lacing on the glass.
    The aroma isn't too strong, but I do get a lot of malt that has some caramel notes.
    Taste starts off caramel. This caramel fades away and turns into chocolate and coffee. There's also a roasted smoky flavor that kicks in on the back. There's also a slightbitterness on the back.
    The body is decent and full. Smooth feeling.
    Delicious beer overall.
