    Happy Saturday everyone, or, as no-one has ever said, TGIS!

    This is a shameless cross-post with NBW #144, but this 15.5% ABV monster has me buzzing enough to not care... Nevertheless, this beer is one of the best I've ever had. I hope your Saturday is as good as mine has been, and I look forward to living vicariously through your beer!

    For the life of me, I cannot figure out why this song starts with the lyrics “It’s April 21st and everybody knows today is Earth Day”. Come on guys, there’s just as many syllables in the words “twenty two” AND you’d be correct. Oh well. I don’t writes ‘em, I just listens to ‘em. Happy planet day, virtual bar brethren. Recycle those bottles and cans!

    I can't wait any longer. This is Chubbles, a triple IPA collab between Cloudwater and The Veil. I've had Chubbles variants before, but never the OG. Easily my most sought after beer. And here it is, and it. is. GLORIOUS! The best triple IPA I've had, and it's honesty not close. Astounding beer.

    Goodness, yes. Cloudwater is the main reason me and my friend were going to Manchester in 2020. That fell through, but I WILL get there and drink them dry!

    I'm still yet to go there myself. I have been to the Cloudwater taproom in London a few times though.

    TGIS…. Yesterday, my boss had to explain to an employee in his early 20’s what TGIF stood for. The phrase “I weep for the future” has never been more appropriate.

    Anything following Chubbles will have a hard time, so going for something unspectacular but solid in West Coast IPA by Grebbestad.

    A sad sight, and one that will be repeated again and again - Anglophones often talk about a "sense of place" - but my countrymen often take it too hard, or at least hard-core, about defending the sense of a place "brand." Deep time, engrained regional cuisines, are hard to uproot, overturn, or go against. Not sure people in this country feel all that "strong" about whether they're eating Georgia Peaches, or Palisade Peaches (here in Colorado) but I get it... local people are proud. Cheers, and happy Earth Day! (which is every day!). :wink:
