Bought a can of Stone "IRS" back in the fall. I can remember buying Stone products when living in PHX back in the late 90's with a specific memory of my brother from Idaho being in town and sharing IRS with him on the night word of Princess Diana's unfortunate passing in 1997.
This beer still holds its own over the years with the roasty and hoppy nature keeping this true to the style. Will buy this again if i see it in the wild.
    Cheers!

It was definitely a fun beer to try when i had it last summer (rated 4.02) BUT found this to be too alcohol fusel forward to call it a classic. Should have bought a second bottle to age one for 5-10 years to give it another evaluation he says kicking himself in the ass. I suspect i can find it at my old bottle shop when i visit PHX in 2028.
    Cheers!

I love this one. I'm hoping to find the Utopias BA 120 DIPA next. Haven't seen it here yet but will check in Wisconsin soon. That should be good too.

No modern day diabetes crap or bells and whistles needed. Just a well made classic recipe from a world class brewer
Thanks a zillion @CarolinaCardinals I regret not getting more of these

Always on the hunt for a brewery that can nail a non-adjunct barrel-aged beer. This double Rye barrel stout from Moksa was so well done.

Sweet rye and umami on the nose, with hints of char. Palate brings lots of dark fruit, umami, spiced barrel, and smoked nuances. Soft feel with a comfortable carbonation. Finishes very smooth; a really nice rye barrel expression.

This beer is still to this day one of my favorite shelf-available barrel-aged stouts. They still nail it year after year, even with how much production they do. It’s impressive.

I know it's blasphemy here, but I wasn't too impressed with the 2022. Drank my 4-pack gladly, but will take BA Ten Fidy or Narwahl over it when I'm at the beer store. I remember the 2020 having more coffee

You're not a fan of Rye BA beers?

    This years Willettized was phenomenal.

Not blasphemy...we are all entitled to our opinions

They haven't been my favorite, no. I would gladly drink them, but if I had to choose, it's straight bourbon all the way. The spiciness is real and a little overpowering for me

In Stout of Ourselves from Sierra Nevada (Alpha Hop Society). This one is compliments of @CarolinaCardinals - thanks for sending this one! This is aged in bourbon with coffee, maple syrup, and vanilla. Comes in at 12.2% ABV.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours midnight black with a solid layer of creamy light brown head. The nose is fantastic. Vanilla, maple, chocolate, toffee, slight bourbon, and a nice layer of roasted malts. The taste is equally as good. Rich toffee, maple, vanilla, toasted coconut, fudge, slight barrel, oak, roasted malts, and some nice dark fruit. Very smooth and drinkable. The mouthfeel is thick and creamy and the aftertaste is sweet maple and vanilla. Great stout!
