the beer absolutely hits different when you're at the source. A pint Caber Tosser is probably the best i have ever had from them

Grabbed a 6er of Nighthawk from them yesterday based on your post in a different thread. What style us Caber Tosser?

A few random thoughts, not tasting notes, after hitting a ton of new lagers (to me) this month:

Moonlight: First intro to this brewery with the April $1 shipping. Overall, they make phenomenal lagers. Moonlight would 100% be a staple if they kept the $1 shipping or distributed. They're on the lager level of Enegren IMO.
    • Pale Dry Lager - 10/10: Amazing, would be a staple if it was nearby
    • Reality Czech - 9/10: ^^
    • Death & Taxes - 8.5/10: ^^
    • Black to Reality - 6/10: Least favorite of the mix. Not bad, but felt misplaced after Death and Reality
Enegren: Major fan of almost everything, and Lightest One is a staple in my fridge. To me, they're top tier in the country for lagers.
    • American Reinheitsgebot Pilsner - 8/10: Lovely pilsner, although I enjoyed prior years a bit more
    • Nighthawk - 10/10: Not sure what took me so long to drink their dark lager, but this is the shit. Love it, need it regularly, and it's easily one of my favorite Schwarzbier's to date.

Monkish: Great hop game of course, but their lagers are not slouch either.
    • Images of Rapture - 9/10: Top 3 Monkish lager to date
    • One Light Linear - 8/10: My fav of the recent release, clean germen pils
    • Citra Slopes - 7/10: Similar to Linear with a citra bite. Very enjoyable if you want a hop fix
    • Shrimp - 7.5/10: Interesting and refreshing. Reminds me of a Vienna Lager quite a bit, and their Vienna from a year back was my favorite.
    • Mean Streak - 6/10: Okay but wouldn't seek out again
    • Irreducible Complexity: 4/10: Not a fan
Everywhere: Everything new to me. Drank from the source + cans. As a whole their lagers were pretty good, albeit pricey, but their high point are the stouts.
    • beautiful something - 7/10: Solid but for the price/preference I'd go to Enegren Lightest or Moonlight Paly Dry Lager.
    • deep breaths - 7/10: Very similar to thoughts on their helles. It's good, but there are many better options for less.
    Random
    • Occidental Brewing - Japanese Style Dry Lager - 10/10: Ran across this randomly at a nearby store. Perfect IMO for a dry rice lager
    • Burnin Daylight - Local Lager - 7/10: Nearby brewery that I've neglected to visit. Really enjoy this one, it'd be a lager staple if they canned it regularly. (Lomita for the South Bay locals)

Knocking down an Enegren Maibock Spring Lager right now. Man, this one is a beauty. 7.2% and smooth as silk. They make a lot of excellent beers, and I think this one is as good as any of them.

Edit: They must have changed it up a bit this year. I just noticed Enegren's website lists this one as being 7.0% abv, but it says right on the cans that I just purchased (dated March 14 2023) as being 7.2%.

Picked the Maibock up tonight at Total Wine for $9.99 (4 pack 16 0z cans). Think they just got it in too, I don't remember seeing it there last week.

Yea those release in early May so you got some FRESHIESSSS!

eventually they'll start popping up at WF and TJs .

Everything about that beer is perfect.
    ABV , Price and taste.

Although , since its not a lager is it appropriate to post here???

Is Maibock Lager a style cuz i was led to believe those are two different things or am i wrong?
I really dont know shit about lagers besides "Drink Enegren"

Everything that I come across online whether it's on Enegren's site or elsewhere says Maibock is a lager. Here's Enegren's page for the beer:

Had the pleasure of trying the Enegren/FW Reinheitsgebot on tap at the Propagator today. It's still just as great as day one when i had it!

I had not purchased anything at all from Modern Times in at least 3 years. When they put out Star Jungle in 2019(ish) I recall loving it. I saw it Friday and bought it. Nastiest terrible disgusting chalk/paste chewy Pilsner to cross my lips in a very long time.

@Resistance88 isn't joking, he sent a can of American Rheinheitsgeboot from Enegren and Firestone-Walker and it is a straight up god tier pilsner. Great work from those two

Yep, wish I'd bought more! Took some to Vegas for Sick New World so some buddies could try it. Other than maybe Fortuity from Moksa, the best beer we had the entire trip.

Just had a Reality Czech and a Summerfest back to back. The Summerfest is much hoppier, squeaky clean, but with disappointing head retention. The Moonlight is softer, as a Bohemian style pilsner should be, and somehow more complex. Both great beers in their own way, but if I had to choose I'd go with Reality Czech all day, personally.
