Good morning BAs! Having some coffee in the room before breakfast - Westbrook’s “Mexican Cake” (2023):

Canned 4/25/23. Released at the brewery yesterday. Poured at 52°. Delish combo of chocolate fudge, spicy hot green chilies and cinnamon.

A beautiful day for a long drive. I’ll see y’all this afternoon. Cheers!

    Hello all Advocates,
drizzly morning and cloudy sky this Labor Day.
    English atmosphere, so...

Birrificio Liquida (Ferrara, ITA) - MOLLY - Best Bitter (4%)

33 cl can (€5 at the beer shop).
On the can: "Best before: 03/11/2023".
Smell of Ale on the nose: mainly malts, fairly neutral scent of hops vaguely reminiscent of grass.
As soon as poured abundant foam, soft not much consistency but which in any case does not disappear and remains to act as a small hat for the beer.
    Amber colour, with reddish reflections.
In the mouth "direct" beer, clean simple, without frills.
Not too light in body, but extremely drinkable, supported by adequate carbonation, i.e. minimal, but present in the background.
The malts dominate the soft entrance: cereals, biscuit, then the bitter hints of non-fruity hops arrive, with slight herbaceous notes and nothing more (cut grass and other very light unidentified spicy notes).
At the end of the drink, the mouth remains clean, on the palate hints of classic British Ale with malts as masters: biscuit, light caramel, crackers.
Successful interpretation of a classic style, successful beer with an appreciable balance between malts and hints of noble hops, which contribute more to the bittering level than to the gustatory level.
Typical example of beer to drink buckets from the pub pump, perfect for the gloomy atmosphere of this festive Monday.

Good day BAs! @DoctorZombies - glad to see you're on the road with fine driving weather - up here it's 38F/4C and drizzling. @Jack_14, good to read another review from you - keep us apprised of the beer scene in Italy!
Caught a vole in the kitchen overnight and turned her loose down by the Allegheny - must have been a female - bitched me out the whole trip to the release. I'll reset the Havahart trap again - in my volish experience, where there's one, there're two.

Today's New Breakfast Beer, from @2beerdogs and NBW BIF 17:

Thanks Derek! Decent DIPA - if it were available here, I'd keep some on hand. Rating 4.18, rDev -0.2%

Morning, BAs! Thanks for kicking off the thread, @DoctorZombies , and with one of my favorite beers, as well!

I just got back from some zero-anaesthesia dental work. It was ... not fun. I can't chew on that side of my face for the next eight hours, but at least I didn't require an entire left facial block (this time). Either way, I'm drinking my lunch, and I need something strong.

Enjoy your drive today @DoctorZombies and thanks for opening the bar today! The calendar says May but the outside says March, at least in Chicago. Hope it warms up here soon.

4 month old bottles or 7 month old cans, despite the difference in oxidation rate I still chose bottles. Then I remembered, snpa never tastes old and holds up great

Other Half HDHC Broccoli Special Reserve IIPA. Without a doubt, the dankest, leafiest beer I’ve ever had. And those of you who know me, that’s saying a lot. Exactly my sweet spot, but not @Roguer ’s. Don’t worry, man, I won’t send this to you

I liked this one much more than the average BA, but I also love well-balanced peppers in my beer, and this is one of the few that still brings the heat. Cheers!
