Seems SN has given Arizona the finger as far as Summerfest goes. WTF?

Referring back to the Scrimshaw dating discussion a couple of pages earlier, I picked up a 6 pack of bottles and by the date decode method put forward by @unlikelyspiderperson it was bottled on February 13, 2023. I picked it out of a cooler. It's tasting plenty fresh enough with a nice white bread character followed up by dry semi-spicy hops. I tend to get a bit of a yeasty element with some NC beers which I quite like as well.

Don't forget this clarification from the brewery -- that first digit corresponds to the brewing year.

Well, tell 'em to get on the ball! What? They still have Powder Day on tap to drain?

FYI - this isn’t related to Summerfest, but SN does not always put “can-conditioned” on cans that are can-conditioned.

But is that info on their site current? According to that the only cans that are conditioned are the Pale Ale. But it mentions Celebration in bottles, which isn't available anymore, is it?

Not sure if this qualifies as "current", but back in 2019 @SierraTerence posted on these forums this:

We still bottle condition Pale, Porter, Stout, Celebration, Bigfoot and we will do the same with our 40th Anniversary Ale coming out Jan 2020 - Mar 2020 (also will be in a variety pack for a couple months after).

Obviously you don't see Porter and Stout anymore, but Pale, Celebration (limited quantities), and Bigfoot (bottle only) might still be bottle conditioned.

No clue about can conditioned, although I could search the forums more. I'm fairly certain can conditioning has been discussed with Terrance regarding Pale and Celebration.

12-packs just started hitting my area over the weekend. I have to say that I'm absolutely loving this batch. Lagers are pretty much everywhere these days, but I'd take cans of Summerfest over 99% of them.

Here's what I've got on their bottle conditioning:

Their bottle conditioned beers are their bottled heritage brands - Pale Ale, Porter, Stout, Celebration, Bigfoot (but obviously this is dependent on if a brand is even in production), and some of their oddball special release beers (like the 40th Anniversary in @AlcahueteJ 's post). They normally don't force carbonate (or pasteurize) anything besides barrel-aged beers.

The draught versions of those beers undergo what they call "tank conditioning" - where they use the natural carbon dioxide and elevate top pressure to increase CO2 during cellaring.

Torpedo and a majority of their non-heritage bottled (and canned?) beers are tank conditioned (Summerfest?). Bigfoot was tank conditioned from roughly 2007-2010/2011 instead of bottle conditioned, but they switched back to bottle-conditioning to improve it's stability for aging ( @DIM ). Their canned "Draught Style" Pale Ale (for Utah and some export markets) is tank conditioned. Can-conditioned Pale Ale is the same recipe as bottle-conditioned Pale Ale.

Canned Celebration has fluctuated between tank-conditioning and can-conditioning... and it seems that they didn't want to fully commit to a single approach off the bat. It might even change within the same season if they lose the warehouse space for can conditioning (but I have no idea if this was just in theory or if it was actually something put in motion at any time). That's why it doesn't state "can conditioned" on the packaging. Tank-conditioning and can-conditioning sound like names for similar things, but they are clearly quite different.

I could be wrong (or out of date) about any of the above.

I'm with you (but particularly regarding US beer).
