Hello everyone. I’m a new member from Roanoke Virginia. Just recently turned 21 in April. I have always loved beer and just been fascinated by the labels and all of that. There are many I want to try. Currently I’ve only had cheap beer haha. My favorite one so far has been Coors Light and the hard Mtn Dew drinks. I’m an auto mechanic. Mostly work on Subaru vehicles at my dealership but have also worked at Toyota. I’m happy to join here to learn more about beers and see all the different ones. I’m really wanting to try one called Edmund Fitzgerald. It sounds really good. Me and my dad haven’t been able to find it in our area though.

Welcome to the great culture of craft beer, and to the BA site. The Edmund Fitzgerald Porter is a very good beer and is the most popular beer in the American Porter style. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/styles/159/ It's also the highest rated porter among the porters that are distributed to at least more than a few states.

Great Lakes Brewing does distribute to Virginia https://greatlakesbrewing.com/beer-finder, so Eddie Fitz, which is a year-round beer, may not be too far away from you. You can try using the beer finder link to locate it. I used a Roanoke zip code that shows 6 places nearby that you can check out. https://greatlakesbrewing.com/beer-finder#

Hang around the site as much as you'd like, and have fun.

Pick a weekend sometime between now and the fall and come up to Richmond and wade through the dozen or so Richmond breweries. Youll learn a bunch and try a lot of different styles.

A cheaper way would be heading to your local Kroger or food lion and picking up a make your own six pack or two. You can try a lot of different stuff for cheap. Find styles you like look on here for highly reviewed ones available near you and branch out from there. Just have fun with it most of all
