Are they exporting more overseas lately? After not seeing a bottle on a self locally (Cleveland area) in years, I have stumbled across 3 separate varieties at three separate times in the last few months. Did the whole shakeout with Shelton Bros. and being post pandemic actually help get more to the US? Just curious if anyone has any intel.

    Cheers!

It seems to vary quite a bit in various parts of the country. After Lime Ventures took over as the importer, we had a few local (Kansas City) drops of Gueuze, Kriek, and RdG in late 2021, but very little since.

I'm starting to see it more regularly. I'm not a fan of their stuff ( or any wild ale) , but i know people who love it.

I walked into a place and saw they had just received 6 bottles of Kriek at 1pp.
    I grabbed one just cuz

Our local shop just had a big sale and put out St. Lam, Kriek, Gueuze, Bruocsella 1900 Grand Cru, Fou' Foune, RdG, and Brabantiæ. All reasonable prices.

Whoa, that's an amazing selection. I've found Classic Gueuze for $21.99, St. Lam for $25.99 and amazingly Sang Bleu for the same $ as the St Lam. All 750.

Chicagoland gets big drops couple times of year now, it is pretty great!

I love the stuff and I lament the days when it was available everywhere...albeit at a price we thought was crazy at the time. Around here it shows up maybe once per year and is usually gone instantly. Either that or the store will charge a 750 price for a 375 and it might last an extra few days. I'm convinced that Crooked Stave sits on 1/2 the supply for Zwanze day, which I'm not even mad about.

Haha, same. I can't remember how many times I passed on bottles of Lou Pepe Kriek and Framboos lol.

Awe man... I gotta get out and about more often just to hope I can run across what used to be shelf turds (15 years ago) to score some of those enamel eating liquids... what few teeth I have left want it bad!

If Cantillon is showing up again in stores in US that is very exciting news. I’ve been seeing larger quantities of various 3F around over the last year or so as well, but those have historically at least been available is some places in the US.

I’m beyond jealous lol. Fou’ Foune is one of my favorite beers ever, and I’d pay (and have paid) ridiculous money for it. Do you remember how much it was at your shop?

The shortage probably had more to do with Shelton not sending much or any to the old Ohio distributor because they weren't buying much of the rest of Shelton's beers. Now that Sixth City is distributing it, it's a new deal. Although the old distributor (Cavalier) seems to be keeping Zwanze Day away from Ohio by suing Cantillon and the new importer because they don't want any other distributor to actually sell beer. Typical.
