Beats those IPA packs most breweries are putting out.

Yeah, I had posted both in the SEPA thread and the Northeast Lager thread. But no worries

I will definitely buy this if it shows up near me. We need more stuff like this.

Yeah, it would be nice but Sly Fox NJ distribution's gone to shit ever since they left Hunterdon for Regal Wine < at least according to SF. But check out the Regal Wine - Breweries website, and they're not even listed. What's up with that?

I once regularly bought Pikeland Pils by the case - numerous corrugated cardboard boxes they used at the time for 12 pks can be found in my study full of magazines and other paper. Now, when in a rare case I do see a Sly Fox beer (seldom more than one or two beers) on the shelf, most of the time they are Out of Code.

Oh, I've seen their beers lately at a Shop Rite Liquors (Freehold) and, a year or so back, at the East Windsor Bottle King but any store that stocks other Regal Wine distributed brands like Orval, Samuel Smith or Ayinger (i.e., most good liquor stores) obviously could order Sly Fox brands from them, also.

I tried it recently and loved it, my thoughts below. The Maibock is good too but not something I would want often.

I will be drinking the Maibock (on draft) tomorrow at the Bock Fest & Goat Races event.

    Cheers!

I've often thought of attending one of those but man I don't like crowds these days.

Have you figured out if this is the same maibock they brew for the race every year?

FWIW they have always tasted the same to me.

    Cheers!

Wow I'm really enjoying this one.

Lightly bready taste, some lingering bitterness. At 3.9% it's very easy to quaff. This one needs to stick around over the summer.

I'm thinking a side-by-side with their Pikeland Pils is in order, and maybe throw in a Pilsner Urquell for comparison.

I'm looking forward to reading other opinions on this beer.

I have not had the beer branded "Bohemian Gold" but in the recent past Sly Fox produced a 3.9% ABV Czech Pale Lager they branded as Realty Czech. Maybe these are the same beers?

I discussed Realty Czech in a past NBW thread:

    "Overall:

This beer is excellent! It has a delicious combination of bready malt and herbal/spicy hop flavors with a great balance between the malt and hops.

Another high quality Pilsner from Sly Fox!!"

Don't recall that one and wish I had tried it. But if this new beer is the same then I guess it works out.

Whatever marketing voodoo was used to come up with this variety pack, someone deserves a raise.
