Ravinia was the best they could get to complete the triangle? Times be tough.

There’s like 10 breweries within half a mile of there…

    It's an equilateral triangle.

That's what I'm here for. Metropolitan and Maplewood which are pretty solid, entrenched Chicago breweries at this point should have called it the Beer Triangle and forgone the city wannabee and suburban started Ravinia for The Beer Temple which is probably the most iconic of those institutions at this point.

Rev, Solemn Oath and Marz should market the Brewers Right Angle.

Clearly Maplewood is trendier and Metropolitan has always been solid (and a personal favorite), but Ravinia's beer is fine. I think Ravinia's food is above average for a brewery though, so I feel it's a nice compliment to the other two.

Yes, this more of a branding/marketing push than anything, but it's to everyone's benefit when breweries support each other. Creating identifiable clusters within the city ("Malt Row" is another example) helps more casual brewery-goers plan their outings and in the long run should help the neighborhoods as a whole.

Haven't had anything from Metropolitan in a while but always liked their stuff. Maplewood is a bit hit and miss with me. Agree with you on Ravinia, only had a couple of their brews and it was fine, but nothing memorable.
