I just noticed that the Chocolate Gearbox cans I bought at RT last week were canned Nov. 3, 2022.

To my palate the beer is kind of solvent and medicinal -- I get a little cocoa, some dark cherry, and no vanilla. I'm not getting any roasted malts at all, even though the mouthfeel belies a lot of malt.

Can anyone tell me their impressions of this one closer to November?

I don't want to review old beer, but... they *were* selling it.

I had one canned 11/3 on 11/30...I found it pretty earthy, but not medicinal.

Tried Into The Tilt yesterday and really enjoyed. Stays true with a WC type pale ale with a slight modern turn. Perfect for someone curious about getting into craft.

Sold as an IPA, but drinks like a Pale Ale. Light and easy in terms of ABV and bitterness, but packed with flavor. Would be a great warm weather offering, but fine in any season.

I have found incognito and cryo hops in other beers to be hit or miss, artificial tasting at times, but the blend and treatment here is on point. Need to check out their Lager next.

Picked up singles of three of their recent new releases - RTB Zwickel, Easy Hour (Altbier) and a new batch of Thither They Return. Had the Zwickel this evening and thought it was well done. According to their description, it's "based on a Bohemian-Style Pilsner- malty, spicy-Saazy, and lightly yeasty". Might go back for a 4pk on this one.

I had the Zwickel & the Altbier tonight...I liked both, but the Zwickel was the easy favorite. Rustic lager vibes; mildly challenging but still an easy quaff. I told could see a full 4package in my future.

    Challenging? How so?

"Can I drink this in 4 gulps, or 3..." that was my challenge at least, haha. Thought it was a crusher, as the kids say.

I enjoyed my rustic zwickel experience. Nice, full mouthfeel.

Okay, anyone else wondering how Lane at RT swiped the Grevensteiner recipe for the Zwickel?

It was my first thought when I tasted the RT -- this is just like Grevensteiner! With the right amount of Urban Chestnut thrown in.

I had the new Curd & Loaf saison on tap and it was pretty damn good! I only had a small pour and if saisons are your thing - this one hits all the right notes. Pretty light body, easy drinking, but creamy, light lemony note, peppery spice and citrus.

Dimensional Drift was great too - light, hazy, and juicy like Half Acre's Tome. Very nice.
I don't know why I didn't get Winder IPA tho, their WC IPAs are always amazing... Guess I gotta go back.

@audis4gasm -- you didn't try the Alt or Zwickel?

    Both very nice.

The House Lager is fantastic, definitely quenched my thirst for a tasty malty lager. It's closer to a Helles than any other style, I'd say.
There are only Growler/Crowler fills of Helles in the taproom right now, but they do have the House Lager and Zwickel available in cans.

I compared it to regional all malt lagers I used to seek out in the mid to late 80s -- Dubuque Star, Schell's Deer Brand, and the like. Beers that stood out from industrial AAL at the time, but still very drinkable today.

Oh yeah, and the Zwickel sucks, so just leave it on shelves -- I'll take care of it for everyone.
