In 1999 I well remember sitting up six floors in Adelaide composing my best friend's eulogy. He had refused further treatment for his bizarre deadly cancer and died sooner than we all thought or wished. As I was ruminating on Brad's life and how we had become friends, there below me was a cricket match, which intrigued me. It was the greatest distraction that I have ever enjoyed. I finished my final memories of my friend, had it faxed to North Carolina and settled in for a few Cooper's Sparkling Ales. My daughter had memorized my poem and recited it at Brad's service while I was flying to Perth.

 

Oh, and later there was a Romanian pimp and his brood at the bar.......

Nice fruity sour that I got from City Brew Tours. The only thing negative aboot it is there's no foam.

I came with an N/A beer Zero G in hand, but I stayed for the Club @RaulMondesi motivational speeches to lead the day.

Cheers all... Last day off-off, 50k tomorrow morning (Sat) if the weather doesn't YET complicate things again. Like @Bitterbill noted, we've had rain for days, 4 inches of rain in Colorado Springs so far, like more than month's worth in 2 days. Woof. Shot of Monument Creek, which usually runs around 50-100cfs this time of year, was at about 3-4000 cfs yesterday. BANANAS, 4-5 x the Rio Grande flow in any given month.

Cheers to the weekend, BAs! I’m shopping at Sam’s Bottle Shop in Durham and having a pour of Homeostastis, a DIPA from Funguys Brewing in Raleigh. Deft touch on the Nelson hops. My son’s taking a half day and we’ll tilt a few this afternoon.

 

Starting the evening with an Imperial pils from Trumer for my Feierabendbier. Does a great job of keeping the really drinkable character of trumer pils while upping the alcohol a few percent
