It could - but it doesn't. That's contract-brewed by Genesee and their code is:

C = March (the third month of the year)
    10 (day of the month)
    3 (2023)

I think they might might skip the letter "I" (so it's not confused with a "1"? But that doesn't make a lot of sense...)

Poured from a 750mL bottle into my Troubadour tulip.

Clear gold liquid beneath a half finger of ivory soft peaks. Fine yet thick lacing with a faint shimmering rim of tears.

Suffused with fruit (peach, pear), floral, and funk aromatics. Incredibly inviting and diverse.

Sweet, malty, honey-kissed palate entry - balanced by some tart grape-skin/barrel notes, a little grapefruit and grass from hops, mild bitterness, and a touch of "wild" microbes. Medium to medium-dry finish with a complex malt bill continuing to reveal new nuances long into the aftertaste. Wonderful.

Medium-bodied, rich, soft, mouthfeel. Lightly tannic, refreshing yet satisfying.

SARA hit this one out of the park - one of the best "simple" domestic takes I've had in quite some time.

Having another west coast new beer from @snaotheus . Thank you for all the beers from NBS BIF#17! Really enjoying this next one. This is Obec Czech dark lager. 4.5% out of Seattle, Washington.

    Onto my review:

Sampling a 16 oz can. Cold, right out of fridge and poured into .5L dimple mug.
Canned on date stamp of 8/31/2022.
Pours a clear cola brown color and rests in the glass slight darker. Some mahogany highlights on edges when I hold glass up to the light.
Fizzy dense beige head is about .5 cm and fades quickly to a sturdy edge layer. Some tight lattice on each sip or swirl.
Aroma is dominant malt with toasted notes, molasses and faint dark chocolate. No real hop presence. Malt domiant but not very sweet nose.
First sip reveals a lighter body and fine tingly carbonation. Texture is smooth and the beer drinks pretty easy. Goes down great on a warm spring day.
Flavor is some roasted notes and molasses with some dark chocolate in background again. This is NOT a sweet beer. Hops are faint but maybe a little grassy hit that shows up on finish.
No abv hints anywhere and the mug is emptying quickly. Very glad to have tried this one, its a good brew.

    Blech.Brut - Red Dots

New England IPA with Strata, Mosaic, Comet and Motueka hops, from Germany (6%).

Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and tropical, citrus, berry hops, with notes of passion fruit, lime peel and blueberry, as well as hints of dank accents.

Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slighty grassy and dank hops, with tropical, citrus and berry notes of passion fruit, papaya, grapefruit, lime peel, blueberry and elderberry. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some passion fruit, lime peel and blueberry lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This makes for a tasty NEIPA with an interesting flavor profile that features strong berry notes from Mosaic and Comet in addition to the usual fruit salad notes. Blueberry is especially noticeable here from Mosaic and works well with that light, certain elderberry/blackcurrant note from Comet, while Strata and Motueka bring those typical apssion fruit and lime peel notes, with a light dankness as well. The hops really do stand out rather vibranf and well-defined here, making for a rather enjoyable brew.

Happy NBW all, and thank you @WunderLlama for opening the gate!
It seems I can’t go anywhere without swinging an axe.
Visiting family in Colorado and my mom has a lot of logs that need to be split. So I got to it. After a while I needed a beer though, one that wouldn’t spoil my aim. 1265- a Pilsner from Left hand.
Can’t describe the pour as I drank it from the can, can’t describe the aroma as Covid is still playing silly buggers with my sense of smell (so what good is this review?) gah!
The taste, where the rubber meets the road- this fits my personal preference for a Pilsner almost to the t. Has the light biscuit malts and a hint of grassy or herbal flavor that seem to accompany noble hops, and just a hint of bitterness. I may need a 6 pack of this. The feel was excellent, but then I had really worked up a thirst so that might have influenced my thoughts on the beer. Either way, I liked it, and would seek it out again.
    Cheers all!

Aroma is bright juiciness and light fruity sweetness. 3.75

Big hoppiness and followed by similar bright fruitiness though none of the bitterness. Slight fruit sweetness and malts. 3.75

Fairly smooth with light carbo effervescence, and subtle lingering aftertaste. 3.75

Overall a nice juicy IPA that really benefits from the 0 ibus and makes the most of that fruitiness. 3.75

12oz can (canned 4/11/2023) into a tulip. Pours a hazy lemon-drop yellow with a monstrous billowy white head that leaves behind patchy lace.

Aroma is bright juicy citrus—pineapple, grapefruit, mango. Clean dry malt sweetness underneath.

Taste is all citrus, almost zero bitterness. Pale dry biscuity malt is the neutral canvas to showcase the bright citrusy aromatic hops. Which it does—but I can’t help feeling that something is a bit lacking with the absence of that sharp hoppy bite on the finish.

Mouthfeel is soft as a pillow, super drinkable. Goes down easy.

Overall a very nice take on the hazy/New England style IPA. It might not be my favorite IPA style but this is a fairly straightforward presentation of it.

    First 3 Sheeps!

3 Sheeps 2019 The Wolf - Vanilla Rye

No Beer Notes or Price noted.
    12% ABV per Untappd.

    Appearance:
Pitch black 10 oz pour into a plastic cup. Thin white tan ring above rim. 4.0

    Aroma:
Very nice rye nose, bourbon packing heat and I’m lovin’ it. 4.75

    Taste:
Consistent with aroma. rye packs a paunch and dominates, stings the tongue. Malt comes out later, over 20 minutes in. Creamy sweetness comes out but the rye keeps things balanced. 4.75

    Mouthfeel:
Creamy full body, drinks easy for the strength. Sweetness and rye lingers wonderfully. 4.5

    Overall:
This is an excellent one time special variant for the anniversary. I am really enjoying this, the rye is excellent. I may get one more it’s so good. 4.5

3 Sheep/Casanova Top Shelf Collaborations-Grotto BBA Imperial Stout, 13% ABV. Pours black with a one-finger light-brown head that left no lacing. Aromas are coffee, nuts, chocolate, and bourbon. Taste follows, moderately sweet, equally bitter. Decent mouthfeel, overall outstanding.

    Pühaste Brewery - Strata Porter

Baltic Porter with Strata hops, from Estonia (7.5%).

Pours a deep, dark mahogany coloration with a medium, creamy, lasting head. Smells of quite roasted, slightly caramelly malt, chocolate and fruity hops, with just a hint of pasin fruit coming through.

Taste is an excellent balance of quite roasted, slightly caramelly malt and fruity, slightly resinous hops, with some chocolate and hints of coffee and licorice coming through, as well as hints of passion fruit, citrus and pine as well. Finishes quite roasty, with a medium bitterness and some chocolate, licorice and passion fruit lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This makes for quite a roasted and fruity Baltic Porter that almost crosses over into Black IPA territory with its mix of roasted malts and fruity, slightly resinous hops. In fact, I would say it's more of a BIPA than a BP, but since I love BIPAs, this works very well for me, although purists may be disappointed. Nevertheless, there's some chocolate, coffee and licorice to this as well and I really love the roasted, dry character here, with a good bitterness and very little sweetness coming through here at all.

Congratulations on your daughter's accomplishment @MacMalt that is quite an accomplishment.

Love that O'haras, it shocked me how hoppy it was; it was also one of the best nitro pouring canned beers I think I've had. Hope you enjoyed it as well!

I'm guessing you drove with your axe dilemma? Something tells me you wouldn't have made it on the plane...wait, Craig, you aren't the guy that the netflix hatchet wielding hitchiker documentary is about are you!?!?

Enjoy your stay and safe travels back home.

Hoping to join you all with a beer soon, obligation filled Saturday thus far, as always, but soon...

Hops as aphrodisiac makes sense I think. New Zealanders often describe their iconic Sauvignon Blanc as having a slight cat pea on a leaf aroma and taste, just enough to be intriguing and alluring. You know, like a whiff of gasoline. Tolerances are an individual and peculiar thing. Like cumin, cocoanut, and peaches. blended.......

I really like NJ blonde ale
    ...cloudy light orange appearance.
...just a hair below average body with carbonation being equally close to mid range but overall nice feel
...aroma is citrus fruit as well as peel, buckwheat honey, malt as well as sour
...taste has a very mild sweetness but quickly some earthy, mild hop bitterness comes in. The citrus is slightly dominant.
...overall I took a shot,I live in Jersey so how could I not. Very solid beer that I'm glad I grabbed q six pack[IMG]

Happy Mothers day weekend to all!

Prison City Tangerine Wit. Label says Belgian Style Wit at 5.0% ABV.

Appearance is a really pretty golden yellow, its also fairly opaque. Has a pillowy 2 inch head that fads to a thin layer with very little lacing.

Aromas are tangerines, oranges and bread dough.

Mouthfeel is fairly light with very little carbonation.I think it could use some more carbonation.

Taste is simple and straightforward: tart tangerines (but not overpowering), bananas and some bready yeast and subtle spices.

Flavors all stay in sync thru the finish, which has a touch of bitterness to it.

This is a nice simple refreshing Witbier. Wish it had a little more tang to it, but it will do on a nice warm summer evening. Dont think this beer is in the BA database. Never added one, maybe Ill give it a shot.

...medium,Slightly prickly carbonation with a bit of a thin body but still feels nice
...aroma is dark roasted malt, wood, toasted grain, crusty dark bread.
.....taste doesn't stray too far from the aroma, almost dry, toasted bread is prominent
...overall its a nice attempt at the style, enjoyable and glad I supported a local brewery[IMG]

Finally time for a beer, a new beer courtesy of @snaotheus. Well, sadly my favorite thing to do all year came to an end last night; but that means more time for other things. Since I'm watching the Kraken right now I figured it was appropriate to poor a beer from Washington into a glass from Washington (courtesy of @BBThunderbolt).

    Reuben's Brews - Sun Compass (Kviek Yeast in a Lager-Like Beer (5.3%)

Pours a brilliantly bright and clear gold, sudsy quick forming white head; doesn't stick around a nice opaque film remains.

Nose is lightly doughy and grainy, brightly herbal almost leaning into floral; pear.

Taste is very lightly toasted white bread, herbal and lightly grassy hops; a pear skin or white grape like fruitiness.

Light but leaning towards medium body; moderately dry with some lingering black pepper hop presence; carbonation is lightly effervescent.

This beer was really neat to try, as they describe it, a lager-like beer that shines as bright as the sun; I would say that description is accurate in both look and feel. It really reminds me of a kölsch just with less lager like character and just a touch more fruitiness. Really fun beer for me Ryan, thank you :beers:

Trying another from the same brewery
    So it goes helles lager
    ...cloudy light amber appearance.
....medium carbonation with a light body but it felt nice and enjoyable.
....aroma doesn't have any one element stand out but evenly divided among bread, cereal, grain and malt.
...taste has a very mild hop bite to start but then some malt sweetness shows up.then cereal grain and toast.
.....perhaps not world class but do they all need to be??. A nice lager from a local brewery that I could easily have a few in a row[IMG]
