I don't jest. There's a near-zero percent chance this beer tastes better after the pastry enema they gave it.

 

Pretty sure Pastry Enema was a J Wakefield beer.

 

It really does seem like a waste to spend all that time in barrels just to mix in a bunch of added nonsense just because. Why bother in the first place to age the beer that long? You've already got Curvature...

 

As long as they keep checking in at 4.3+ on untappd and selling out in the taproom, I don't think P3 is going to stop making them.
I did appreciate the latest Affinity though. Vanilla gels nicely with the beer. Plainfolia was another interesting release - I could dig one adjunct with the BA beers.

 

Did folks like Aviothic? I haven’t tried it yet. I did open a planifolia, and it exceeded my expectations. Dark fudge and a nice, interesting vanilla layer.

supposedly the elmhurst location is July or August now. I don’t know how many more times I can drive to Lake Zurich.

 

I liked Aviothic from my pour. It was probably sweeter with less barrel than Planifolia (side by side could be different than memory) but I still thought it worked really nicely with the coconut.

 

Anyone hear more news yet about the Father’s Day event yet?

They gave pours of Strawberry Arabesque at the members bottle share a week ago. It was quite good. And my palate was not as wrecked as the first bottle share! I ordered my bottle.

P3 finally caving to the popularity of BA beer in 12oz cans. About time! Although I will wager they are not going to drop their per oz pricing to be more in line with Rev.

Damn, wish I would've checked their IG. They're selling bottles of BA Pressed 2022 at the taproom. And they were selling 2021 but already sold out

 

Unless I'm completely blanking on something I think this was my first ever P3 lottery selection. Added some more wallet damage when I found out they had bottles of previous years BA pressed (I grabbed a 22) when I went to pick up.

Only thing I managed to taste was the regular BA pressed reserve and I thought it was very good. I'm curious about the maple...the non-BA version is a little too heavy on the maple for my liking so hopefully the barrel aging helps balance things out a bit. Looking forward to the hazelnut because even though P3 can overdue it with the adjuncts and sweetness taking over the barrel, I'm just a sucker for hazelnuts. The coconut, meh. I'm just not big on coconut. Been contemplating offering that one up in the trade forum and seeing if anyone would want to swap it for a different can (either from that 4 pack or maybe a can of a Deep Woods beer I missed out on).
