Agreed! Those have always been fun and I always enjoyed all the variants that they do with their beer!

Lindsay posted in her last Untapped rating for the latest Stasis project " just wait for next week" could this be Hypersmash Hydra?

The latest release, Condensed Matter, was pretty tasty. Liked that it was a bit lower ABV (11.5) than the typical Stasis Project release (12.5-14.5?). Coffee was really smooth and low acidity not was the rest of the stout too sweet. Still holding out hope for Hypermash Hydra soon though.

Is the chicory strong or overly noticeable? That’s not a favorite of mine and is holding me back from it.

Drinking a space trace right now. It’s very, very good. Coconut and chocolate both there but subtle enough to pick up barrel.

So I guess Paisley Cave is so popular/good its now a yearly release? No complaints from me.

Had a bottle of Static Momentum that I’ve been holding onto the other night and I enjoyed it more than the bottle of BBT 2022 that I had the night before. BL should do more barrel-focused beers like that, it was really spectacular.

Gotta say, I didn't love PCC '23 but I also didn't let it warm up much as I was in a rush. When cold, very little of the 'smores' element is present imo. More like a mild blueberry/chocolate BBA stout. The body was also pretty thin so the flavors were somewhat fleeting.

We rarely see Bottle Logic beers up here in the Portland area, but my local taproom has a couple on draft right now, and last night I tried a 5-ounce pour of Time Bending (2021), which is supposed to be a "pecan pie barleywine."

I love pecan pie, barleywine, and barrel-aged beers. Sounds like a beer I ought to try!

Result: So full of fruity sweetness. So utterly devoid of any pecan or pie flavor. Finishes with alcohol heat but doesn't have much bourbon character. So disappointing.

To be fair, I expect that any beer billed as a "pecan pie barleywine" is going to be sweet. But pecan pie is more than just sweet. It's nutty, buttery, and rich. Time Bending is none of those things.

I enjoyed a few other Bottle Logic barrel-aged beers a few years ago (Space Trace, Fundamental Observation, Ground State, Leche Borracho), so maybe I should stick to their stouts. Or maybe this Time Bending doesn't age well, and the pecan flavor vanishes over time. I don't know.

In Feb '22 I thought this beer nailed the inspiration, so it seems like time did not bend well for this one.

Welp, had my last bottle of Details & Dialects the other weekend with my pops. He said it might be his favorite beer ever. Now, disclaimers include: he loves peach, he loves BA stouts #1 with a bullet, and he’s had almost every BBT and SP big boy stout. He’s also tried a ton of BL and has visited the brewery with me.

I, too, have slowed down on mass consumption of beers, which means my BL proxy hasn’t been as busy. It’s absolutely incredible that we’ve hit the point that BL is readily available in many stores locally (CA local). If they ever make it to MO/KS, I’d be over the moon. Still maybe years and years away, but I’ll make the pitch to local distributors and do weekend tastings in stores on behalf of BL. I’ll be their local BL groupie, happily. Wife and kids will miss me. But, not too much.

I thought it nailed the pecan pie sweetness but I definitely see how it could devolve into a sugar bomb. The stouts are probably the way to go with BL but they occasionally make good barleywines (Sight and Mind, Intrepid Orchid come to mind).

Um, Arcane Rituals, possibly one of the best non-adjunct life bottles anyone has ever made!?
It's insane to think about the amount of liquid in wood it takes to supply bottle shops that aren't your own like that. Particularly when I don't really think of BL anything close to how I do places like Goose Island or Founders.

    Holy shit.

That is thousands of dollars of expensive beer, slowly ticking away its best years. Makes me sad that none of those have found a good home yet.

No one buys this stuff out here .
I (as you all know) am not a fan of anything they make, haven't bought any BW or Stout crom them since 2018 or so, and it seems like they are an afterthought for most people in my area now.
I agree, though, it's sad to see this.
