More smoke and beer, this time combined into a single package, Port City’s Workd Beer Cup silver medal winning Colossal Two:


Grabbed the last six pack at the big beer store the other week, happy to see it despite the award. Virginia took two of three medals in the category (AB InBev-owned Devil’s Backbone won the gold, if I recall correctly). Proving McMurtry wrong, though I don’t think he was singing about the commonwealth’s beer scene, after a quick perusal of the lyrics.

 

Trillium The Streets TIPA (10%). Was very good when new, maybe even a little better with a few weeks on it. Booziness has mellowed out, and the stone fruit is round and prominent. These guys pretty much always do the high-ABV ones right. Cheers!

Back home safely with an assorted box of pizza and a big ole Two Hearted. She works tomorrow, I don't, so a Skrewball shot may be in our future......

 

Octopus Arcade from Beachwood. A true West Coast tongue bruiser. A half pint is more than enough for me, but I bet @ChicagoJ would enjoy it.

Never grumpy or gassy on the occasions I’ve had the pleasure of lifting a few pints with this legendary Chicago BA, last week being no exception. @GrumpyGas , this is the perfect grilling beer and I need to have more!
