What beer are you drinking now? #3864

1) Toppling Goliath Electric Dino Boogie (7.8% canned 2/27/23): A NEIPA from Iowa/Tx collab with Pinthouse Brewing with Simcoe, Citra, and Galaxy for flavors of juicy orange, cantaloupe and peach, tropical fruit with a touch of pine and dank herbal notes.

2) Toppling Goliath Haze Bus (7.8% canned 4/24/23): A NEIPA from Iowa with Simcoe, Mosaic, and Citra for flavors of orange flower, pineapple, mango, light herbal notes. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) TG Electric Dino Boogie: A Toppling Goliath haze battle that you knew was coming. Both are fantastic. Haze Bus is a new one with an orange flower, pineapple and papaya flavor. Fresh, zesty, and hoppy. Dino Boogie is older and some good Simcoe flavors of juicy cantaloupe and peach. They both are similar with Haze Bus being more fresh and hoppy. We'll see how Haze Bus does with a bit of time. Dino Boogie gets the win for now and proved to still be superb at three months.

Here is a selection from my favorite NEIPA brewer in the middle of the country. Procured and provided by @ChicagoJ. It immediately jumps out as being different from their other beers of the style. This is not the soupy, thick variety I am used to. Cali Cool does refer to the style. This is a proper WCIPA. Perfect for right now. Illinois is going to show up big for me today. Which reminds me, I am going to have @superspak record me annihilating people during everyone's favorite Illinois death metal band's triumphant return to Milwaukee Metalfest, next weekend.

No. 25 Silver a Wheat Ale with Mangos from Central Waters. Very tasty and refreshing beer after working in the yard. Had one too many bourbons last night at my son’s birthday party, now heading to son-in-laws for his birthday and likely more bourbon. Cheers, BAs!

Good afternoon! Starting off with this gem from Alesmith, “Speedway Stout “! A very good imperial stout with a very pronounced coffee flavor.

 

Parts of the old bridge will be detonated, but most will be dismantled. Their reasons for dismantling were - "Dismantling the bridge piece by piece lessens the impact on nearby bridge traffic, minimizes the possibility of debris entering the river and reduces any impact that may affect endangered mussels." They will have to close the new bridge and the river traffic during detonation, when they do it. Just for an hour. That's the plan anyway.

This is my favorite time of the week. When the sun allows front porch pictures, and @JamFuel and I get our own table at the virtual bar. This is probably the best batch of this beer, with definitely the best can-art ever. On both sides. I prefer this side. The non-unicorn side. This beer is courtesy of @bstyle. The most beloved forbidden BA. Who shall return, one day.

 

Day 22 of the journey, Brewery number 23, open only since 4/22/23 - Salt Road Brewing - a generous flight of 5 oz pours for $12:



Our favorite was the “Foggy Rather Groggy” WC DIPA with Citra, Cascade, Chinook and Centennial. Bitter citrus rind and pine. Tasty!
