Its not all Pilsners yet, still have a few darker beers, even if its getting in the mid 90's already ha. One of my favorites, but haven't seen it in the stores for a while. Harviestoun's Old Engine Oil.

Spinning this wonderful, but eerie album with John Surman and Jack DeJohnette. On the wonderful ECM label of coarse, The Amazing Adventures of Simon Simon. :sunglasses:

I'm on to something right in my wheelhouse: Sull Train, a DIPA from Wilmington Brewing Co. (NC not Delaware). They've been nailing their big IPAs lately. This one's all Citra and Chinook. Canned on 5/4 so super fresh. Kind of an East Coast-West Coast hybrid. Excellent beer! I wish I could get Wilmy distro here in Jersey!

...I truly am interested in your reaction to the older Alchemist beers...personally, I don't think they're bad at all...of course, @tasterschoice62 just sent me a fairly recent sample of Heady Topper, and, just basing things off memory, I didn't see it being significantly better than the Sep 2022 version I gave you...but, you'll be the judge...others certainly ride the 'fresh is best' train (and I don't necessarily disagree with that, but...)...and whenever the Alchemist drop happens again, I'll see if I can't get you some fresher examples...

...may I suggest talcum powder and Gammel Dansk...???...I understand it can be a winning combination for people in your situation...

Still trying to plug away at the beers on the Most Popular Beer list here, almost all of which I have had but just didn't rate or review. Today's entry is Anchor Steam with the new label, an oldie but a goo... well, I'll have to review to complete that statement accurately.

This is a perfect beer for perfect weather. Another from @bstyle. Chicago Bears BAs, week 18 at Lambeau Field. Throw out the records. My house for an epic share, tailgating and the game, then back to my house. Let's do it.

I'm reviewing in the cellar review thread and will cross post here. I expect both to be in good shape based on your proper storage (I immediately refrigerated at the hotel and then after checking out upon returning home). I drank a year old Great Central Helles Lager yesterday, been drinking even older Amalgamator (both refrigerated this entire time) and would say both were at around 85-90% of "fresh". I'm expecting two great experiences. Will compare the notes to the fresh ones I will have shipped by @Ocalafox

Hoping you enjoy the Double Barrel VSOJ (I'm reviewing for the first time tomorrow, thought I rated it in January) Thundertaker, and A Little Crazy, which I may still buy one or two more boxes (bought another last Saturday) since it's that beer's last dance distribution wise (will still be at the tap room in the future).

A classic to fit the beer, but I'm always a sucker for songs in 6/8 or 3/4 time

I just finished my review and went above the mean on Anchor Steam. It might just be hitting the right spot at the right time, but I am loving the balance and light malt notes in the glass.

    Ah.
    Ok,
minimal water leakage during job 1. These raccoon hands, lube, and YouTube actually got the damn job done. Phew!

Now on to the order of the day, first up: TRVE Lightless Horizons IPA. While listening to some classic RUSH on my rescued-from-the-basement small hifi system. Still sounds great!

    Cheers!

Gentiana, a Gruit from German brewery Kemker (6.9%).

A fantastic barrel-aged Gruit with intense and vibrant herbal notes and a great balance of bitterness and sourness, with that tannic oak and subtle funk working quite well with the flavor profile here and really enhancing the drinking experience.

Was hoping the timeline for the WCIPA box might work for me, my travels, etc. - but just too dodgy.
    Darn it.
Can only hope for another good box down the line where I'm not in and out of the house so much. We have to sign for any liquor shipments, and it's too unpredictable.
Ah well - there's always beer, right around the corner. Cheers!
