My dad loved this shit - WWII in New Guinea and the Phillipines - as well as canned peas. Both were a staple at our table when I was growing up and I can't stand either now. When Mrs. Lizard cooks herself up a mess of Spam, I have to leave the house - the stench makes me nauseous.

 

Good day BAs! Off to a sunny and cool start to the day after a cool and rainy Saturday - spent the bulk of yesterday sitting on a couch watching "Blue Bloods" and drinking brewskis. Hopefully today will be more conducive to outdoor labor - sunny and damp (53F/12C).

Today's New Breakfast Beer:



An excellent but young BBA Murican Impy stout. This is delicious and woody, the bourbon hides behind the wood. If you can find a few of these bombers, grab them and allow them to age - they should be fantastic in a few years! Rating 4.3, rDev +2.4%! Thanks Ryan - I loved this guy!

Good morning BAs! Early to bed, early to rise, and I’m usually out of bed by sunrise. Here in the foothills of the Rockies the sun is up about 5:15 MST. Now it’s coffee time - Deth’s Tar:



Canned 9/29/22. Purchased at the brewery 5/11/23. Poured at 54°. This is an amazing BBA impy stout, and one of my favorites. My buddy @ChicagoJ recently mentioned that I should have grabbed a 4/pk of BBA The Wolf while we visited 3 Sheeps Brewing last weekend, and he’s right…it’s a delicious brew and hard to come by…I will have to console myself with the boozy tasty treat in my glass right Now…

My friend that I’m visiting, and I, found a brand new brewery in Fort Collins (Salt Road Brewing) yesterday and enjoyed multiple generous taster sized brews:






After asking around town, we located a large beer bar/restaurant downtown and had a great lunch and drank 3 Pliny the Elder pints on tap, each. We’re going back today to another brewery on our list, and probably do a late lunch/more Pliny at the beer bar, so save me a seat here at the virtual bar. Cheers y’all and have a super Sunday!

 

Spam is the #1 top shoplifted item in the Hawaiian islands. It's so damn salty...diced and put into a sort of hash I can stand it. Good for camping! Ha!

 

I can see stealing it if you're desperate but never wasting the coin of the realm on actually purchasing it. And what about those knockoffs like Treet?

 

Right? I guess ya can't stop love! The worst smelling/tasting pork I've had, in a whole ham, is a style Country Ham.. I dunno how it's cured and I don't wanna know. Utterly revolting.

Happy Sunday BA's! Overtime done, towels washed and lawn mowed. I don't like mowing wet grass but had to get it done before leaving for NH Tuesday morning. Jai Alai while resting in the "feels like 89" degree heat.
