    WBAYDN? Cross-post...

My goodness. I've only had a handful of Maibocks, and have loved them all.

But damn does Schilling deliver here, canned a couple weeks ago.

    Ziegenmensch - Schilling Beer Co.

and as for the Goldfinger and RTB, those pictures great. The proportional clear glass, off white foam, clear copper, and burnished copper.

I saw one recently with a similar theme, "Death to the Goat,*" or something. Made me wonder if it was high ABV -- then the beer guy said it was the Cubs goat theme.

    Same beer?**

    *"Goat Destroyer."

**maybe same beer with a different name?

Tell me why I need to add this one to my Maibock list?

Squeezing this entry into this thread before bock season is over. This maibock from Territorial Brewing, one of my local breweries which is a German-inspired brewery, is probably the last one released during maibock season because it isn't released on the traditional first of the month but rather on Mother's Day. (The mothers of the three brewers all share the name Nancy, hence the beer's name and the release date.)

When this beer was first introduced in 2016 it carried an abv of 8.3 (I think), and it has gradually decreased to the current 6.3 for some reason. The rich malt taste has also declined, but it's still a very good beer. (Disappointedly, I think its ability to create and retain a head has also declined.) So here's Three Nancies:

Unfortunately, my only trip across the border recently has been to St. Luke's to support a good friend going through cancer treatment.

Maybe sometime soon -- with him in celebration of kicking ass!

To the mods -- I know May is coming to a close, but can we keep this thread open a while longer?

My brother just found this season's HB Maibock and I'm taking possession of a six-pack tomorrow! Happy days.

I once again attended the annual Sly Fox Bock Fest & Goat Race which occurred a few weeks ago (May 7th). As always, a great time was had by all (including my wife and a bunch of friends). For folks who are interested in learning more about this event there is a section in the below linked article, including photos and a link which includes a couple of videos:

    https://www.morebeer.com/articles/Brewing_Maibock

The declared winner of the goat race this year was Princess Jenny so this year’s Maibock is called Princess Jenny Maibock. At the event I was told that the final heat was a tie (I don’t know the name of the final goat). My guess is they decided to name the beer after Princess Jenny since she has the bona fides of being a past champion (many times over).

    “Princess Jenny Maibock (2023)

    Bock - Hell / Maibock / Lentebock

    • 7.2% ABV

    • 28 IBU

Festively brewed with German Vienna and Pils malts, and prized Hallertauer hops, this flavorful lager is christened in honor of Princess Jenny the 2023 and now 4-time champion of the annual Sly Fox Bock Fest & Goat Races.”

At the end of the race, they tap the Maibock and it tasted mighty fine!

A good buddy Phil purchased a number of Sly Fox lager variety packs (see photo below) and in the pack were cans of the Maibock. He was kind enough to give me one can of the Maibock which I am greatly enjoying today.

See below in the 2023 Bock Fest & Goat Race beer krug.

    Prost!

This is the first Maibock for me this year. I just don't see them out in these parts. This is local to me, just over the hill in Santa Cruz. It's big (7.2%) and malty with some traditional earthy hops thrown into the mix. I quite like it, actually and now plan to pick up a few more cans.
