    ISAT cross-post. I am splitting this with @superspak. He did a NBW review. We have to be careful not to drink too much before Milwaukee Metalfest. There is a strick 12-beer minimum at the venue. I can't wait to hear "War dance!!!" tonight!

    Our first side by side - Heady Topper (canned 5/8/23) vs. Focal Banger (canned 5/9/23):

    FB starts out more pungent with a little onion, but as the beers warm it doesn’t take long for the HT to emit strong notes of garlicky, oniony, cat pissy fruit aromas. Both beers taste like semi sweet skunky fruit. The FB tastes slightly better, but not by much.

    My ratings have steadily gone down for both beers over the years. I’m tired of cat pissy smelling, oniony garlicky IPAs, that don’t taste good to me. I couldn’t finish either 8oz pour. I need a palate cleanser…

    The day can only get better…Cheers from Estes Park, CO!

    Was it originally named London Special Ale? If so, that beer has a nice sharp hop edge. Last had it in the mid 90s.

    @budsNpils thanks for rating the beers too. We don't seem to have enough BA's around here reviewing and rating beers to meet the min to get a BA score. It's a bit frustrating.
