Don't quit now. My post from another Karma thread is quoted above, and you can go there and read a few posts after that for an explanation if you want. The short answer seems to be that your reviews accumulate at a specific increment number (like at 10, 20, 50, etc.) and then karma points are released. Mine finally moved a week or so after my post.

I'm not the highest level nor the lowest level, so I conclude points are neither given nor taken away for ignoring members

Looks like this thread needs a bump...

Life is suddenly GRAND for this Pooh-Bah!

Thanks Todd for revamping the Karma system, and bringing back the loftier aspirations.

I'll likely never get as HIGH as some other folks around here, but it'll be fun trying!

    Cheers!

It only took 19 years, but...does the box that I'm *sure* will be showing up very soon containing my fez also include instructions about the secret handshake, along with a link to the "real" BeerAdvocate site? :stuck_out_tongue:

Just stumbled upon this thread, I was one of the lucky ones who got bumped to PooBah when the change happened, so I’m happy about it. Looks like the advances come in chunks now instead of ones and twos - so we “level up” so to speak.

I'm in the same boat. I woke up one day and suddenly discovered I had been Pooh-bah'd. I gotta say, though, that I personally miss seeing those points accumulate one at a time, as opposed to the new system of being batched in as certain thresholds are met. However, it hasn't affected my ability to find good info about beer or to track my beer reviews, so (mostly) all is still good.

Yeah, I think as long as you keep enjoying beer and posting here about it for the edification of those interested, the different levels will come, just all at once instead of bit by bit.
    Cheers!
