What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3876

1) Toppling Goliath Haze Bus (7.8% canned 4/24/23): A NEIPA from Toppling Goliath with Simcoe, Mosaic, and Citra for flavors of orange flower, pineapple, mango, light herbal notes.
versus
2) Drekker Juiceler (8.0% canned 4/25/23): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Citra, Mosaic, and Sabro for flavors of orange citrus, ripe pineapple, hints of coconut and melon. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Toppling Goliath Haze Bus: Another NEIPA battle. Juiceler is fresh Drekker with the Sabro to add the hint of coconut and overripe pineapple. The Sabro is mild and not much coconut here. Otherwise pretty standard hop profiles with Citra and Mosaic from both IPAs and they are pretty similar. Both have their classic signature brewery flavors which from Drekker is citrus zest and from Toppling Goliath reminiscent of citrus flowers. Both are quite similar, but prefer the citrus flower Toppling Goliath flavor.

 

O'Hara's Irish Stout on nitro is in me glass. Tasting mighty good.

Illustrious Iquana a 3IPA from Lupulin, not a fan of the style (ABV) ,very tasty thou.

 

I just polished off my growler of Mai Bock from Appalachian Brewing Company.
I gotta say, this one from them is pretty good, the only one I will go to the brewery for. It has a little residual sugars, so it's on the sweeter side for the style, but there's enough hops there as to balance it all out. I personally would use a yeast with higher attenuation as to clean up some of that sweetness, but that's just me.
I'll have to go back and grab one more growler this weekend before it's gone for the year.

Rippin' hot day here in the Lakes Region of NH... 92℉. Yuck!

Got a god-awful 10mi road run in. Prolly regret that @4am Sat morn when I'm heading off to my next mountain race.

Every few years someone in my life seems to have Heady. I've never purchased it myself. Today, the neighbor is sharing one. Love my buddy, but we're not drinking out of the can together lmao!



It's always a great beer, and I have a visceral memory of my very first sip a decade or so ago.

Still in my top 100 beers, and a classic no doubt. I DO still need to try Focal tho.




Straight to the beach after run. Water cold enough to feel very healing to sore legs.

Wasn't a fan of this many years ago when I first tried it, but I've learned to enjoy lower ABV beers as I've gotten to be an old man.

Going old school here. Sadly, it is starting to turn skunky. I think I have one more, and will drink it sooner rather than later.
