I've actually had decent success getting trades done but it's almost never a 1:1 or even trade of beers that are the same style. It's either I have too many stouts and want saisons or want to get rid of a big bottle for multiple smaller bottles or one party wants to overpay for a rare beer. A lot of the best beer is so similar and there are good barrel aged beers in pretty much every city now that paying $30-50 for a bottle and then paying another $10 and spending time packing and shipping to get something I couldn't even tell apart in a blind tasting just doesn't make sense

 

Bottles are only available 2 pp. I think they cost $10 each. Pty draft is more available than ever but I think that makes people less likely to perceive it as valuable in bottle form. It would be relative locals that would be able to visit daily to rack up any number of bottles and they're going to be the most likely to be awash in yonder draught pours.

Most people who got their 2 bottles probably have people they want to share them with already

 

Would Van Winkle BBT and D17 go 1:1? Maybe the BBT side adds something small?

Are Treehouse 1pp bottles obtainable $4$ with Monkish cans? Specifically I'm looking for Double Baked and Spacetime Continuum ultimate coconut. Was going to offer up a 4 pack from Monkish current to-go for each, but at 1pp, do these catch a premium? Hoping not since they've been available for a while.....but what do I know.

 

I could see someone out this way going along with that. They are 1 pp as you said, but that’s per day so it’s not difficult to obtain more than one. Also, the two you mention allow proxies so you could always go that route.

I loved Double Baked and will hopefully grab another at some point since it’s been hanging on for a bit.

What's Cantillon Plaisar at? I have seen it available without limit at the brewery for weeks now and wondering if value has dropped.

How difficult is it to trade for VSOJ? I've got a few bottles of Arcane Rituals (2021) and a few other BABWs, but I don't really know what I should be offering for a few cans of VSOJ

not too difficult, assuming you mean b2. there's very few b1 in the wild still as it's been 5 years.

but BL doesn't carry any weight for most Chicagoland traders. as far as WC barrel-aged producers go, Moksa, North Park, very select Modern Times bottles would likely pique interest

Any valuations on it? Seems like I keep seeing ISO b6 but not b7.

My buddy's name is literally Art. What's worse is he's big Hill geek. Worst of all is that b7 was bottled on his birthday.

He's about to enlist an army to see if we can land one or multiples since I think they're smaller format. I've got a few recent Hill whales, some recent DL variants, plenty of Voodoo BRC, but not a ton outside of that besides some vintage loons and 3F, nothing crazy. He's got a better Hill stash but sometimes Hill for Hill doesn't move as easily.

 

Almost certainly not the right place to ask, but... what happened to that Bad Trader thread that was posted last week? Deleting it entirely seems like the wrong move for the trading community here, right (no matter the outcome)? Asking here simply because it's the only active place in this particular forum.

I know it’s just a beer page but it actually kind of disturbs me how many posts get deleted, moved or edited here.

 

Yeah it's not great, and everyone seems to be vaguely aware of it and just ignores it.

Last week, in the thread about Alex Kidd's cancer diagnoses, I linked to a contemporaneous interview with Kidd primarily about his diagnosis but also about his career, about his time on BA, how that catapulted his career, and how he was unceremoniously kicked from the site. No snark, that's all. It was removed from the thread along with other comments referencing it for being "off topic" (lol). I reached out to John about it and didn't hear back.
