What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3880

I'm a 10 minute walk from Landlord on cask but I've only ever seen Boltmaker in the north of England.

 

Man, what a day - I just finished up work for the day. 5 and a half hours to install some research software for a customer. I was supposed to go to a 10 years milestone awards dinner at 3:30 but not going to make that obviously. I can't just abandon a customer in the middle of doing an install. The installer is 23 GB in size and over a slow (customer's connection) it took hours to copy over the installation files and then another hour and a half to actually run the installer. But all done now and hitting on a Second Fiddle.

Apparently NEIPA is not all they're great at crafting. This stuff is delicious.




A couple more pics of our super-fun, bug-free day in the woods and local mountains that I meant to post with further beers last night... but got caught up chef-ing dinner and entertaining.





Got a casual-paced 7.4 miles and 5 of our 'neighborhood' small summits in - 3 new for her and toward her Belknap-12 patch list. Such a nice change of pace after the previous day's mountain race.

Andygator helles dopplebock - Abita

 

1) McFleshman’s Pirate’s Cove (5.4%): A Helles Lager from Wisconsin with flavors of earthy bread malt, fruity and tart yeast, sweet grains.
versus
2) New Glarus Two Women Lager (5.0%): A Helles Lager from Wisconsin with flavors of pale malts, bread yeast, and light bread malts. Yeast, crisp, and dry. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) New Glarus Two Women Lager: A Wisconsin German Helles battle. First beer from McFleshman's. It's an okay Helles lager at best. Earthy bread malts, but also has a funky and tart yeast that seems like an off-flavor. Not a drain pour at least. Coming back to Two Women Lager. An easy German Helles Lager with a pronounced yeast flavor to keep it clean and dry. Sure I've had better, but still pretty good.

Good afternoon, all! Out running errands and decided to stop for a snack and a flight at The Brass Tap, Cedar Falls, IA. (l-r) 5ive Cities Bikini Bottom Pineapple; Allerton Hambletonian Dunkel; Bremer Flower Power Pale Ale; Urban Artifact Nitro Peaches & Cream. Paired with house-made tortilla chips and spicy salsa. This Dunkel kicks ass, the peaches and cream not so much. The other two are very good.

 

Dopplebocks will do that to you.

 

Grey day. Good beer.

 

Not many beers that I enjoy more than this one
