When I first had this beer, I'd never heard of Kringle, despite having grown up (wife would dispute that) in Wisconsin, but it smells and tastes very familiar. I think I must have had Kringle pastries when young and that's why I didn't recall the name.

Yeah, fruited stouts can be a hard thing to pull off. Too tart or too sweet and it distracts from the base stout or tangles with the BBA. I've had a few good ones where the fruit isn't strong, such as the 2018 BCBS Midnight Orange, that was done well.

never heard of a kringle either. however, my buddy knew of them from work (customers or suppliers in WI). excellent beer in the brewer’s reserve lineup.

as far as fruits in stouts, i’ve had a few i liked. midnight orange wasn’t bad. was better when cuvéed with the vanilla variant from that year. for the most part i can do without them in stouts. cheers!

The 2020 version. As per @Blogjackets I am ridding my cellar of 2020 and older. The 2019 was amazing, this one is…
Curious. I can’t shake the feeling that I’m drinking a BA coffee stout with lactose. It’s feeling like a milk stout!
The taste, on the other hand, is solid. A bit hot yet (the whiskey has an overly strong flavor) but it is still very good. Fortunately I just have one more, so drinking it over the weekend won’t be a problem. Thank heaven that two of my 4 packs were 2022 versions!

[IMG] This mystery imperial stout is from my moonlighting Imprint coworker! It didn’t pass their QC but they canned it anyway and gave it to their employees. Regardless, I find it outstanding!

I would NEVER pay for this as these bottles run anywhere from 35 to 50 at stores around here. much better off grabbing a pint of SHIT! ( So Happens It's Tuesday) which is just as good!
That being said i wouldn't turn this down if offered it.
    Hope you're feelin good brotha!
