Good day BAs! Very productive day meeting with electricians, plumbers and insulation contractors. My old house has a lot of issues…first beer of the day is a dandy - New Glarus’ “30th Anniversary Quadruple”:



Canning code = ? A gift from @Danmullens1 Poured at 58°. Creamy light tan head with some rocks initially; long cap retention; heavy ring, medium heavy lacing; ruby/copper body with excellent clarity. Nose is sweet caramel malt, fruity esters, cloves. Sweet caramel malt entry, sugared raisins, figs, clove; mild alcohol. Medium body; moderate carbonation; warmth in mouth from 10.5% abv; dryish finish. Overall a great balance of malty/fruity flavors and spice; a beer worthy of 30 years of brewing.

It's not everyday a World-Class brewery like this starts a new version, similar to one of their oldest and most popular beers. It's extremely bready, yeasty, and soft. Nothing quite like it. Both are excellent and near-perfect, but the original tastes slightly more authentic with complex German flavors.

At 11% ABV I guess you could not call it a “session” beer! It does look good.
