Good day BAs! Thanks @ChicagoJ for starting today's thread! Why goes the slide to the winter solstice seem so damn short while the climb to decent weather seem so long? SADD is real and for me it starts today... Thank Derek I've got a delicious New Breakfast Beer to console me!



I'm a hard grader when it comes to beers, and this is possibly only the second I've ever rated as 4.75 in terms of flavor. It is delicious! If you've only got one 2019 stored, drink it now! If you have several, drink one now! Bottle Logic makes AB BCBS look (Never mind - my brain says rethink honest opinions in a litigious society). If you have a choice between buying Bottle Logic and BCBS, buy the best! Rating 4.65, rDev +7.1%

Happy Litha - Summer Solstice - summer arrived this morning at 10:57 am EST....warm weather - being outside in nature and on the water - and beer! Great time of the year!

 

Well, my supply of Summerfest has lasted till the first day of Summer so naturally I'll drink a few today. One of the supermarkets had a few 12 packs on the shelf so I'll probably buy more

 

Zundert 10. Another Dutch Trappist Quadrupel. Theme of the day here by coincidence

The abbey of Zundert has a small production compared to La Trappe. Brewing at Zundert started with help from the brewmasters from La Trappe. But it is a different beer. I like Zundert somewhat more.
There is nothing to see at Zundert abbey by the way, no shop or taproom. But the town of Zundert is the birthplace of Vincent Van Gogh, the painter. The house where he was born is a museum.

Hello friends! Thanks @ChicagoJ for the thread today. A hot day here and it's all mine. Last night at my pub show a regular & I started chatting as we've done before. He has bad legs/hips and walks slowly with a cane. He smokes grass to help cope with the fatigue. I too enjoy the tidings of mother earth and have 3 walking sticks lying around that I randomly made years ago. So, with Eric in mind for a gift, I turned one into a walking dugout. I just need a creative, decorative & incognito cap and rubber foot on the btm. I'll see him in a couple weeks. I think he'll dig it. That's that and this is beer! Gluek Bohunk Pilsener Pale Lager. Cheers!

 

A Coors Light. So far all I feel is...nothing. But it sure is tasty. Shazam.

The weather here is truly fickle. Over the last two days our rain gauge showed 6.4 inches. The high temp today will be in the upper 60s with lots of wind. Topping it off was the little bear running down our street, then disappearing into the woods by the lake. Never seen a bear here before........
