Hitting the spot. Perfect bitterness accompanied by the dark malt .

    Like a cold brew!

Sorry to mislead you @resistant88, just the last regular Siberian Night in my fridge. Still have a BA version and then my stock is exhausted after that is consumed. Just checked the Total Wine Greenville, SC site and am happy to report that they have four packs for $12.49; one of the better bargains out there for a base imperial stout. Having said that, have not been to Greenville in a while and given my current inventory i cannot justify purchasing this anytime soon .
    Cheers!

My last Revolution can from @FBarber always such a treat, thank you! I owe you big time. Thunder Taker clocking in at 16.2%, sweet jeebus!

Well this is unsurprisingly not shy. The barrel notes are huge, tons of rich booze along with old pipe tobacco and woody vanilla. There is also plenty semisweet chocolate with undertones of spice. Not a lot layers, little nuance, and no subtlety but damn this is a great one.

You may have gotten one of the last pints of that ever. The brewer that made it left Gravel Bottom for another brewery and the owner isn’t a big stouts fan. Glad it hit the spot for you!

My entry for the night is Onyx Realm, a base RIS from True Respite in Maryland.
All the malts and coffee are present, the hops and harsh have mellowed out it seems while sitting in the cellar. Way too easy to drink, at 13% it could mess you up. But it’s really good.
    Cheers all!

Still not sure what makes it Finnish in style but it’s definitely barrel aged. The color is a little lighter than normal, the taste is more bourbon than malts. If you want to drink a stout that leaves no doubt that it is aged in bourbon barrels, then this would probably work well for you.
    Cheers!

pretty good! heavy adjuncts but i like prairie‘s barrel-aged stuff. even if they’re too sweet (and this one was not), it’s only 12oz to get through.

Humble Forager/Horus collab Fishing With Horus v1 Imperial Coffee Stout, 13% ABV. I rated this 4.46, one incredible maple/hazelnut/coconut/coffee stout. Not a pastry stout. Humble forager uses version numbers for their beers. I wonder if they have release notes?

I’ve not been able to find these around here for a while (Oddly, the fudge version is in a number of places) so I have to drink from my cellar.
I always forget just how good these are.
    Cheers!

One of my favorites! I found the salted caramel brownie version at my local distributor today. I was tempted to try it but I heard the voice of @Resistance88 on my shoulder saying “don’t do it “!:stuck_out_tongue::rolling_eyes::grin:

Should of followed @Whyteboar 's example, instead I paid 40% more to try the "Hawaiian Edition" aged with Hawaiian coffee, coconut, and vanilla beans.

It's not a bad beer, it's just ultimately not an improvement for my preferences. The coconut is practically non existent, the vanilla is there but it just throws the balance of the beer off a bit for me, and I generally think Hawaiian coffee is over rated and doesn't taste that good and that typical tepid diner coffee flavor is present here.

This beer is fine, maybe someone who likes vanilla a lot or loves Kona coffee would dig this more than the base. But I'll be going back to the basic version for sure
