Hello, my name is Paul. My username is Ash Cloud. That's because I live in sight of Mount St. Helens volcano. My favorite beer is ashcloud amber brewed at Barrel Mountain Brewery in Battle Ground. In fact I'm drinking down a growler right now; as. I watch my 5 G. brew of Dos Equis clone ferment.

Welcome to the message boards Ash Cloud! That is a beautiful part of the country I’ve only made it to a few times, and only once near Mt. Saint Helens. Will need to try to visit and check out the breweries including Barrel Mountain. Fremont is my favorite Washington brewery so far, but I’ve only had beers from a few others.

What are your favorite styles to brew? You’ll catch me mostly in the What Beer Are You Drinking Now? threads enjoying a beer or two each day.

This site has a lot of great topics covered including home brewing. I’m tagging @JackHorzempa who can fill you in on more about that folder.

    Cheers!

It's nice to meet you, Paul, and welcome to the BA site. How long have you been homebrewing? I'm a member of that club, although you could say I'm an 'ex officio' member since it's been 6-7 years since my last brewing session.

As @ChicagoJ says above, there is a Homebrewing forum as one of the many features here on BA, https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/forums/homebrewing.8/, that may be of interest to you. If you're a relative newbie of the hobby, page backwards thru that forum and you'll learn a lot.

Hang around as much as you'd like, explore to discover all of the other features, and enjoy your time here.

Yup, there is a homebrewing forum so please feel free to participate there.

I recently brewed an English Bitter Ale and I tried the first bottle of that batch last evening. Still a bit 'young' but nonetheless quite tasty!!

    Cheers!

Welcome aboard! I have got to get back into home brewing myself. The last one was an experiment gone horribly wrong. A Gotlandsdricka.

My preferred home brewing style family is Saison.

Here is hoping you find this site to be rewarding. PROST!

I will be homebrewing a Saison in about a month (late August). My recipe is discussed in this article: https://www.morebeer.com/articles/Saison_Beer

    Cheers!
