Trust me, they still won’t have problems moving all the RBBT packages as is

They will eventually move all the bottles for sure, but it would have sold out long before now with fewer farmhouses in the pack.

And that sound is the secondary tanking. Those MBC roaches scrambling.

That’s what @JPick and I were talking about earlier. I / we can handle SOME packaging, but it would be nice if the stout:wild ounces ratio was closer.

So it’s 8PM and the packages are still available. Is it safe to quote BBKing now: the thrill is gone?

I’ve been an avid BBT fan since being able to score batch 2, but I’m finally burnt out. Really enjoyed all of them a lot, but the package fatigue has finally caught up to me as it has to others.

It will be interesting if the same thing happens with the Mornin' Delight and Coconut Assassin package. I think that is likely.

This is a good thing. It means that SP's perceived demand did not live up to the supposedly warranted "smaller" batch 375 format AND/OR the fans are finally showing restraint to the sour package (w/ a stout). If the latter, this is a positive step to change.

Long time BBT / SP stout fan as well. I bought the last VW BBT package. I already had feelings of regret after hitting that submit button. Cracked the bottle with a couple friends and wasn't super impressed by that batch. Good but preferred the standard BBT. Told myself, if they make 375 format the norm and continue packages, I'm done. Well, here we are. Honestly not surprised to see them still available.

I don’t think so, only because they are allowing proxy now, long over due imo

Just a thought here… Think back before Covid and remember the availability of SP beers. Every release was in person only and outside of BBT, there were no online sales. Would people prefer to go back to that setup? I know I sure as hell don’t. If the evolution of the way SP sells makes it easier to access their beers and they can operate a successful business, I’m down with that.

That's an entirely different subject, though. Everyone has already invested in the online infrastructure. Why would any business go back to dealing with lines and the hassle of physical sales. It's convenient for both parties, and has nothing to do with how they choose to combine their products.

Only market I've ever wanted to see crash so bad.

So wild that BBT is still available, but if I had already tried Rye BBT, I probably would've passed due to the bottle size.

My point was that SP beers are much more attainable than they were a few years ago… That’s a good thing! If packaging beers together allows that to happen, I’m all for it.

Side note, went solo on this one the other night and really, really enjoyed it.

Glad to have scored my first BBT and happy to see the market equalizing. Never was a fan of Facebook shitlords commanding double or triple in retail. Cheers all.

That's understandable. I mean, you are right on the point that that the online stout releases are more attainable in the sense that they are not selling out in seconds or minutes anymore but you really have to be a fan of their sour program to justify the purchase.

My mind set: I get it that SP's startup was on their sour program. Though, it leaves a bad taste when it's clear that SP is over producing their saisons/wilds and unloading on their stout market. Times change, palates change, not all beer fans can tolerate the acidity of many of those styles. I used to be into saisons/wilds/lambic a long time ago but they are rough on my system. Not all, but many of the SPs are pretty acidic. I opened a Biere Blanche from one of my past packages a couple weeks ago. Supposed to be a Witbier but had so much acidity that I had to take a Tums after I was finished, I was burping acids in the throat. Opened a bottle of the last batch of SdF (which is actually quite pleasant) at the P3 Beer Cellar release and nobody took a pour. The styles are like polar opposites and if you are into those styles, you can buy them from the SP store a la cart any day of the week. In this sense, SP stouts have not become more attainable because you are paying a premium to get the beer you want in a lopsided ratio with beer some may not even care to comsume. If the stout release packages were more ratio balanced and they integrated different styles (Shared pilsners, ipas, non BA stouts, porters, anything else), I may continue to support.

That's just my opinion though. I've finally gotten past the fomo and have become more selective in my purchases. Being from the Chicago area and a member of many programs I don't feel the need to chase beer as much as I used to since I'm flooded with many great options.

My buddy got a message that his SP order was processed but he hasn’t picked it up yet. He did email, but has anyone been through something similar?

Drinking a (very good) 10 yr Grisette at the brewery, and now all I want is the gin-barrel version of this.
