I don’t think that it’s better than Speedway! These Imprint coffee stouts are closer to pastry stouts, but not as sweet.

Turn & Burn (Chocolate) - War Horse

Definitely preferred the base version, without taking anything away from this variant. All the dark roast one expects, with spicy cinnamon and nutmeg and bittersweet chocolate. The bourbon is mild, with a light touch of peat. Light burn in the throat, from he spice. Dense and chewy. It is working well with a drizzly afternoon out back.

I have been nursing this for a while, switching to a Dylan/Harrison jam session rather than the suggestion of REM. Dylan is obviously the better choice. Add in Harrison and wow! More importantly, however, is the significant progression that comes from the warmth of an 80° atmosphere this afternoon.

Seriously Dan, when i came into the forum a moment ago, i thought this was a Tomas @Resistance88 post seeing a meat hook handling a BA Narwhal LOL!
Today's first round is part of the spoils of volunteering at a beer festival in Charlotte yesterday. It was my first-time volunteering as a friend finally talked me into doing this and i had a blast! I join Dan in saying i do not do well at the "beer buffet" so it was a hoot being on the pouring end of things. Met lots of cool industry and volunteer peeps and the festival attendees were very cool and appreciative!
Anyway, after the pouring was done, my buddy snagged a half growler of Prolyfk Brewing's Advance Mash Theory: Single Vanilla, a stout aged in a Sazerac Rye barrel with Comoros Vanilla. This is very tasty and not overly sweet due to the barrel and is an enjoyable not overly nuanced sipping experience. Rated 4.26
Between the two of us we came back with 60 packaged beers and this!
    Cheers!
    Tom

PS: A few photos from the festival, i was pouring Dream State from Fort Lauderdale and was next to Other Half, Branch and Blade, and Beer Zombies. The festival was hosted at Hopfly Brewing and co-hosted by Resident Culture which is next door.

Prairie Pirate Bomb Rum BA Imperial Stout, 15% ABV. I rated this 4.44. This used to be my highest-rated beer, but I've lowered the score a couple of times.

Onto round 2 and enjoying a Yeti and a little D-Backs-Angels this afternoon. Yeti is always solid, the D-Backs - we shall see.
    Cheers!

Year Of The Cobra from Little Cottage Brewery

Imperial Milk Stout Aged in a Buffalo Trace barrel for 13 months then conditioned on Madagascar vanilla beans, toasted cocoa nibs and a blend of coffee from Opo Coffee.

Drinks like bourbon barrel aged Herseys chocolate with some subtle vanilla and roast coffee. Adjuncts don't overpower the barrel at all and everything comes together nicely. Sweeter than I typically like but it's not over the top diabetes levels. The barrel heat saves it in that department. Pretty tasty stuff and one that I'm glad to have tried. Happy Sunday everybody!

Been away for a while but I'm back.

Currently drinking a 2016 Mocha Wednesday from The Bruery. It's ok ,but nothing worth describing in detail .

I had this last week for the first time, and I was absolutely blown away. Like THIS is what BA stouts should taste like. I also had a few highly rated BA stouts from AC the same night, and I honestly don't see how you could even put them in the same time zone. Compared to masterpieces like Maman, AC is a joke.

    There's my hot take.
