What beer are you drinking now? #3908

We drove up from the Shore today to have dinner out with friends tonight and to avoid tomorrow's traffic Armageddon. It will be a nice, quiet 4th for us - mostly reading on the deck and grilling. It's super hot and muggy now so I'm hanging out in the cool, dry basement bar doing some genealogy research and hydrating with a really good NEIPA from our local brewery, Autodidact. Cheers!

1) Phase 3 DDH Double Pixel Density 8.0% canned 4/14/23): A NEIPA with DDH Citra cryo for flavors of orange, tangerine, orange flesh. Juicy, and somewhat dry.
versus
2) Phase 3 DDH Far From the Tree (7.7% canned 6/6/23): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra and Simcoe for flavors of orange, cantaloupe melon, tangerine, and hints of apricot. Juicy and sweet. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Phase 3 DDH Double Pixel Density: Phase 3 NEIPA Battle. Phase 3 always puts out some great haze. Far From the Tree is fresh and has the addition of Simcoe to give it a bit of cantaloupe melon and sweet apricot flavor. It's juicy and sweet. Pixel Density is the one that impresses me however. The DDH makes it a bit meaty with time, but the flavors are still excellent. Almost three months out and it does wonders with the Citra hop. Far From the Tree is good, but a little too sweet for my taste. Double Pixel Density is a top tier NEIPA and I wish would be a year-rounder.
