    First time having this last night. Very good. Perfect carb, bone dry while still having a nice perceived sweetness and tons of dark fruit. Really good and surprised it took me this long to try it. Now excited for their quad.

    Anyone else enjoying a quiet 4th of July? This suits me just fine.

    The beer has a nice tartness and mild funk. I’m pairing it with a soft and ripe Taleggio cheese. The fattiness and the tartness compliment by tempering one another, while the two different funks mingle. Not the best pairing, but pretty - darn - good.

    Yep, nice and quiet here. Gonna light some el-cheapo fireworks in the backyard tonight and enjoy a few beers.

    A bit drier than I prefer in the style (I want that NANNER in a wit) but overall enjoyable!

    2018 Cantillon Kriek drinking niiiiice on this beauty of a day. Not pictured is a blue cheese and olive tapenade that is absolutely killing it in the pairing department (twirls mustache).

    In the past, Ommegang has actually marketed some Belgian made beers under different names through Ommegang but I doubt they ship Ommegang Belgian Style beers to Belgium. Duvel Moortgat now owns Firestone Walker and Boulevard breweries also.

    Enjoying a Saxy Machismo from Haw River. The base beer is very nicely executed as the brewing team was able to extract all the wonderful dark fruit esters from the yeast. The twist with this is that some of the malts are smoked and they rested the batch in bourbon barrels along with some hot peppers. There is a touch of heat that is deftly imparted. A beer that i would have again! Rated 4.21
