This is my last one. Gotta get back out on the hunt for more. As you said, these really are worth the splurge. Meatloaf is gonna be epic tonight!

Veil Circle of Wolves and some dinner.
Had plans today but forgot it was a "holiday" so there goes that.

Have you had any other varieties? I've got a Scotch barrel aged Xyauyu Fume waiting for cooler weather courtesy of @FBarber that I am extremely excited for.

They've also got rum, bourbon, and Kioke among others.

See below for my other reviews. Fumé is the last one listed here. They are all exquisite. Lune was the more unique of the six.

Stumbled onto this one today at The Brass Tap, Cedar Falls, IA: Revolution Maple Jacket. (Then I stumbled back out. :sunglasses:) Here's the brewer's description:
Big, bold, and quite boozy at 14.4%. Big flavors of maple, vanilla, and toffee. It's also very sweet, as you can guess from the description. This is probably a calorie bomb, but who's counting?

Well damn! That's an impressive list, thanks for sharing. I've only tried 2 so far with the third coming up this fall.

Love the label on this @Beersnake1 thanks for this one Tim! Here there be Dagons...

This is a wonderfully unadulterated English barleywine. Sweet toffee most prominently alongside notes of figs, raisins, honey, and faint black tea. There is a lingering sugary note with faint praline that is really working for me. Really good stuff.

Not gonna lie I stared at that pic for a full five minutes:flushed:

The stats and font at the bottom of the can, finally got it! Yeah that's pretty blatant...

LOL, I thought you were messing with me earlier ... yea, it's clearly a "hommage" (rip off) of the Sucaba label

Camper style. Enjoyed this but ok with a single as opposed to a 4-pk.

Nope, I'm just slowing down in my old age. I used to be pretty quick too, my fifth grade teacher told me so three years in a row.

I believe it is being released again this month! Not in a black label this year, so it should see distro.

    [IMG] Received a 2022 can in a trade with @Beersnake1 3-13-23. Canned 10-4-22; consumed 7-8-23. ABV is 13.4%.

Nose is very nice, full of dark fruits.
Taste is a medium malt base that emits notes of figs, raisons, with a touch of brown sugar. Barrel lends notes of vanilla with a kiss of bourbon and a touch of heat. Hopping comes on way strong at the end and leaves a resin finish.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.
Overall this one could easily rest another two-three years to mellow out the intensity of the hops which is even strong for someone that enjoys a nice bitter WCIPA. Overall rating 4.05.
    Fun to try, thanks Tim!

Hey Dan, love the picture and yes Blithering Idiot has a new recipe that is totally different from the B.I. i tried within the last two years. It is soft and fruity forward with light bitterness as opposed to the hot alcohol mess i remember trying. I paid $18 at my local for a four-pack. I am contemplating adding a 2023 version to the BA database since it has obviously been re-formulated.
    Cheers!
    Tom
