I am enjoying this one as a tasty crusher. My youngest Daya us 11 today and we are going to enjoy Cleveland. Cheers all. She is her father’s daughter, a spirit we need to tame and she will do great things.

Keep refrigerated and these last a long time, though I don't intentionally age insomuch as I buy to many. Been behaving on that front for the most part this year.

72F/22C and looks like a partially sunny morning - already visited the garden and talked to the veggies and flowers. Just waiting now for things to ripen - the only garden peppers that are bearing fruit thus far are the MN jalapenos - Bell, Hungarian wax, regular jalapenos, and ghost varieties only have a few flowers. The zukes will be ready whenever it dries out for a day or two.



Today's New Breakfast Beer is another I picked up at Weyermann's last April - Weyermann 16 Barrel Aged Barleywine. Comparing it to yesterday's Weyermann 10, barleywine sans barrel aging, I find today's variety cloudier and lacingless, but distinctly more flavorful with slight dark fruit notes and some wood notes. Not really detecting any whisky/whiskey notes but there is a nice afterburn. Rating 4.04, rDev -0.5%

 

I got some great stouts and bought some IPAs and DIPAs, very few impressive. I will drink them, but can’t wait for the great stuff in my fridge.

Sunny at 10:30, 85°/feels like 93°. We may get some rain this afternoon which would be great for the lawn/plants.

This beer is rationed at 6 bottle per person here at the moment because of limited supply. Like Westvleteren, Orval stops brewing when there is enough money to finance their monastic and charity tasks.

Halftime from yardwork with a KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge that's been languishing in the basement for a couple of years. Mostly thick and fudgey which is fine cuz I love chocolate.
