What Beer are you Drinking Now? #3919

Happy Friday! Thanks @AzfromOz for getting us rolling.

It's my last full day in Hungary, and I've still got several beers in my fridge, so I gotta start early (I mean, relatively so -- it's basically noon). Kicking the day off with a Hop Top Pils 12º, which is a pretty darn solid pilsner.

Next up is Punch Line by Fehér Nyúl ("White Rabbit"), a hazy IPA that ... doesn't quite hit the mark for me. But their taproom is cool!



One interesting thing about packaged beers in Hungary is that they are required to put on the label both an "expiration date" and a full ingredient list. So you never have to wonder about what adjuncts are being used, what sweeteners, what fruits, etc. They do not require you to name the variety of hop being used (no surprise), although this one does; they are using Trident hops, a name I'm not familiar with. Maybe I'm just not into that variety?

Bottled 3/9/23. Poured at 57°. Just right.

Briefly on the back patio with the dogs…my old girl Ava says, “can we go back inside now?”. Unless my Tavour box shows up today at the pub, I’m hanging here and drinking with the A/C on (for me, it’s set at 76°) and I have one of my table top fans from the RV blowing on me, to try to minimize the electric bill…on to laundry duty - Cheers y’all!

We, in the Low Countries, have been official French citizens for a couple of years during the Napoleon era Too bad it is no longer a national holiday here since we switched back from being a republic to a monarchy somewhere in the 1800's

 

A Belgian classic I have not seen for years. Good to know it is still around. Nice glass too!
