...still love your description the beer tasting like pocket change...when I contact Conservative Dad again, I won't use your description, but I'll certainly rant about lousy quality control for releasing such a nasty tasting beer product...

I love this style, and this bee is my favorite weizenbock.

Yellow-orange body with a nice fluffy head. Good lacing. A nice looking beer.

Love the clove, banana, and fruit nose. A bit of the ABV is noticeable too.

Taste follows nose with everything amped up from the nose. Wonderful mix of breads malt, banana, fruit and clove. Strong flavor, little booziness and all smooth drinking.

    Good carbonation and mouthfeel.

A top shelf beer in my book.

Hello NBS. Speaking from the East Coast side where after the heat we are again dealing with a deluge of rain. Just incredible. Good day for beer though.
I was able to snag a 3 pack of this one.
    Proclamation and Trillium Collab.
    Prestige DIPA
Pours a murky orange with a relatively small but lasting head that leaves tons of lacing.
Quite a burst of tropical fruit on this one. Very ripe passionfruit, guava, pineapple with accents of stonefruits, a bit of diesel and dank and even a touch of banana.
Taste follows with a mouthfuls of tropical fruits, some citrus - orange and grapefruit. I find one of the attributes of both Trill and Proclo is their ability to keep that soft mouthfeel on the big beers. This nails that even at 8.8% There is a sweetness initially that gets quite bitter on the back with pine and grapefruit pith.
It does dry a bit but hop oils numb the tongue. Another big one put together by two of the masters of the style. Good beer. And I'm actually interested to see how this develops after another week or two. It's 3 weeks old now.
Glad I got to try it.
    Cheers.[IMG]

Good Sunday afternoon, New Beer Samplers and commentators. Kane's Overhead is my favorite always-available, New Jersey-brewed DIPA. It's a super bitter (100+ IBU), fruity ale brewed with Columbus and Simcoe in the kettle, Amarillo, Centennial, and Simcoe in the whirlpool, and dry-hopped with Columbus and Simcoe. So when I learned that Kane was releasing a TIPA version I was excited to say the least. Not being a brewer myself, the best way I can describe this ale is that it's the same recipe with more intense hopping - particularly on the hot side. It's 10.2% vs. 8.2%. As someone who loves the O.G., I can only say, "Wow!"

Canned on 7/5/2023 and released on 7/7. It pours a cloudy, bright golden-orange color with two fingers of fluffy, snow white cap and lots of thick, creamy lacing. The nose is bold and fragrant with lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, and ripe melon. The flavor opens with big, sweet peach and honeydew but it's immediately balanced by tart, almost bitter lemon and grapefruit. But what truly sets the taste apart from its older cousin is the pine - it's not really resinous but fresh and reminds me of early Equilibrium IPAs. The additional Columbus in the boil gives it extra bitterness throughout. The flavors blend perfectly. It's delicious! The mouth feel is surprisingly lite and clean for the 10.2% ABV. It drinks very easily. Overall, Epic Overhead is an appropriate name. This is superlative drinking. It would be a crime if Kane doesn't brew it at least once annually.

Bellwoods - Farmageddon Barrel Aged Wild Ale with California Zinfandel Grapes

500ml bottle split between several Georgetown sample glasses. Don't see a date on it. Got it from @Coronaeus in an attempted trade interrupted by the border.

Pours a clear amber with a light purplish-pink blush. No head. Smell is very tart -- not super specific, just a generalized sweet tart.

Taste is quite tart, grape must earthiness, light grapiness, hint of chardonnay.

Mouthfeel is medium, leaning toward light, dry, clean. Overall, it's good, enjoyable, not a rock star amongst sour beers, though.

Drekker Cherry Cheesecake Slang Du Jour Sour à la Mode, 6.1 % ABV. Pours opaque medium-red, with a slight ring of pink bubbles. Aroma is granola, cherry, cream cheese brown sugar and vanilla. Taste follows, slightly tart, equally sweet. Decent creamy mouthfeel, overall outstanding. I've had many cheesecake beers, and most taste good or smell good, but rarely both. This one nails it.

This next new beer for me comes courtesy of the great generosity of @snaotheus - Zoiglhaus Zoigl-Pils

Pours a cloudy, somewhat opaque brilliant golden yellow color. Thick, frothy white head forms on the beer, lingers for a long moment, then dissipates. A thin residual layer of splotchy foam remains on the beer. Aroma has notes of sweet bready malts, fresh straw, spicy and grassy hops, and some light minerality.

Taste follows the nose with notes of sweet bready malts, some light straw and dried grass. Hops bring a spicy, herbal and grassy note. There is a light sweetness to the beer and a slight minerality. Mild bitterness. Feel is light to medium bodied, crisp, easy drinking. Moderate, bright carbonation.

Overall its a well made to style example of a Northern German pilsner and an extremely enjoyable beer to drink. Thanks Ryan!

Not reviewing this. Can/crowler felt light when I went to pour it. No co carbonation left either. Tastes like the one I had on tap last night, lots of tropical flavors in this Lactose. IPA. This Place is already the best brewpub in Fayetteville

Very pleased that this is basically a west coaster. Big piney and floral nose. Sharp hop bitterness early, soft water, malt body, and leads into an ever drinkable, malty but supremely bitter finish. Classic west coast take, with a New England-ish vibe all throughout.

I forget what it was called but the triple they did when they first started canning. Do you remember what it was called? It was so good…their beers took a hazy and murky turn not long after they started canning I feel like.

Fantastic. They only one missing from my area (that I really want to) is Hill Farmstead. You can find in select areas up north, but haven't seen 'em anywhere south of Montpelier.

I think that is from 2019. A beer friend did a six variety Farmageddon tasting just before I sent you that box. This was one of a couple from around the same time he said were drinking really well. As my stomach has given up on sours for the most part, I thought I’d share.

    Cheers.
