Beer'd - An Unexpected Upgrade

16oz can served in a snulip. Can may have had a date stamped on it, but all I can see is a 1mm thick streak of ink. @Roguer sent it to me in a LIF associated with NBS BIF #17.

Pours clear brassy amber with about a finger and a half of head. Smell is mild, sweet Hawaiian bread and that cross between melon and bubble gum that I'm learning to associate with Nelson.

Taste loses the breadiness, gets a bit of floral, leans heavy into a melon rind / fruit skin / grape stem bitterness, and continues to showcase that melon / bubble gum profile.

Mouthfeel is light, clean, crisp. Overall, it's a very good beer that would maybe be great (for me) if the bitterness came across just a bit softer or less grape stem-my.
