Cacao fermented coffee, which can sometimes have some pretty big character too.

While I was most excited about Supermassive Dread (very good), the VSO Boss Ryeway is the variant prize today. The sweetness of the DBVSOL puts it last on my list, respectively. But they are all winners.

Clearly the crowd agrees, since VSO Ryeway already kicked.

I wholeheartedly agree about VSO Boss Ryeway, it feels as put together as a top tier canned offering - often the variants skew hard in one direction, which I don't mind since it's part of the fun. I actually thought it was sweeter than DBVSOL though. To me DBVSOL seemed drier and oakier than regular Lumberstruck. I did enjoy it quite a bit, but I think there was a little bit of tannic character that I don't remember finding in the regular version and I wouldn't want more than 8-12oz at a time.

I was erroneously given a 2nd VSO Boss instead of Life Jacket, can't say it was a bad call. Life Jacket is really good; the mango in particular pops, but it's nice and balanced overall, and is just as dangerous at 15% abv as I'd heard. Definitely the BA beer you make your friends who aren't into stouts try.

Also update: I can't read, I think VSO Boss is still on, but the fact remains that it's killer. Also, Super Zero is killer. Essentially what I wanted NA IPAs to be, but cleaner.

VSO Boss = on...the special Lumberstruck is gone. I'm heartbroken.

Yeah, the V.S.O. Boss Ryeway is special. The "Wood" in Deep Wood is VERY present, with a very pleasing red berry character. I'll be having a few more of these.

I left the taproom and just finished a can of Life Jacket. Fully agree. Surprised how minimal the fruit is. Only purchased one pack, but hope it sticks around a bit. Definitely will buy more if so.

I've got a stroller full, I'll set aside one.

Hoping to locate my actual baby later tonight.

Okay, THAT was what was gone. It was very good, I do think Boss was better, but you know how that goes.

    Random thoughts:

Life Jacket reminds me of pineapple juice from those skinny aluminum cans from the 80s / 90s. Not a fan.

They just played a Jesus & Mary Chain deep cut so I'm amped.

My palate was wrecked for Cuvee de Grace but I was a bit let down. Not drawing any conclusions though. (The original CvD is one of my favorites ever, my expectations were sky high).

Supermassive Dread had the usual Supermassive nose, but the beer was surprisingly balanced, so I'm cautiously optimistic for D&B.

The few kids I've seen look miserable, please don't bring kids to these events.

As an aside, seems really strange to me that Anti-Hero isn't on tap at the brewpub. I'm sure its some sort of scheduling thing but wild to not see the flagship on the draft menu.

It was one of the bottom signs on the menu (below the chalkboard) when I was there earlier.
