Seems a bit late in the year for the annual 'Guess-which-label-is-real?' game but here we are. Added the names below as they were detailed on the labels.

<ugh. Only two images per post now.>

Literally none of those strike me as a must try…

Is the Prop inspired by someone’s grandfathers’s Old Spice aftershave?

Wow, I'm a huge fan of the Angel's Envy Rye, I'm way into this if it's "real".

The first four = absolutely no interest. Backyard Rye from a decade ago or so was a revelation to me, but post 2015 they've proven that any kind of sweet element in a stout will be cloying beyond enjoyability (for me, of course, others will disagree).

The second four = varying degrees of interest, but I'd like to try them all.

Blame the dudes posting 40 youtube links to Doobie Bros. songs on the WBAYDN thread that literally NO ONE gives a shit about. You don't need rules until idiots make you need a rule.

After the failure of Kentucky Fog, there's no way they would do another tea themed one, right??
I think the ones that have no bourbon aging are fake (the cask reserve and the angel's envy). You can't be called Bourbon County Stout with no Bourbon being involved in the process. imo

I would honestly not be surprised if they were all real, though. Generally when you drop a name of a distillery, it's not going to be fake. Gingerbread and Back Yard are definitely real. Seems like a weak lineup.

*EDIT* I stand corrected. Just checked the 2022 thread and they did indeed name drop in some of the fake labels.

Angel's Envy is finished Bourbon so these barrels would be Whiskey that was aged in new Oak, transferred to Port Wine and Rum barrels and dumped. So those barrels held both Rum and a Bourbon. I think that could make for a really interesting Bourbon County.

My old lady absolutely loved it, and I know others that did, too. Some people can't get enough of that flavor profile, even people who can no longer drink Jager due to a nightmare party hangover.

I'm already lined up outside Binny's so I can loop for cases of Tea Time.

At this point the one finished in port barrels is honestly the only one here I would spend any money on.

Sometimes I wonder if the "fake" labels are real finalists that just don't make the last cut into production.

“Prop 2023: This recipe was dreamed up by our assistant brewer’s brewing assistant after reminiscing about the flavors and smells experienced on a summer folly through the back alleys of Perugia after drunkenly stumbling away during a night out drinking authentic Italian Italian-style lagers in a heat wave, getting mugged by the town youths, and waking up naked the next morning in the bed of a widowed Romani spice merchant. The result is a take that tries to recapture the confusion and smells of that indelible memory.”

Gingerbread one could be cool, it'd be nice to have a substitute for Moody Tongue's version.

The two year reserves are always nice, I'll be sure to pick those up on the shelf at Binny's several weeks or months after Black Friday
