Slash IPA. The artwork kinda reminds me of Pipeworks. Cheers

A treat for me that I can never pass up New Belgium’s 1554 when I see it. So when I saw it at the store today…

    Happy humid as flock Thursday....

Picked up a few festbiers this morning after our usual walk - this one is really nice - re-done by Fatheads to make it more of a "festbier" vs a darker amber marzen it was before - i like!

No Steam at the store (though we waded through it to get from truck to store), but they had two beers I hadn’t had before. We didn’t take a chance on the hazy IPA, but the Anchor California Lager was an option, despite the date being less than optimal.

    Grolsch Tripel.
This is a bargain here at around 1 $/€ for a generous amount (0,45 liter) of nice tripel.
    Cheers

    1) Falling Knife Convivio (5.2%): A DDH Italian Pils from Minnesota, in collab with Maplewood in Chicago, with flavors of lemongrass, good, collab with Maplewood)
    versus
    2) Falling Knife Freudenfreude (5.5%): A DDH Dortmunder lager from Minnesota, in collab with Nine Mile, with flavors of sweet lemon, lemonbread. Smooth honey and lemon citrus. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Falling Knife Convivio:
Falling Knife Battle, their Italian Pils vs their Dortmunder. Known for making good lagers out of The Cities, I've had both of these DDH lagers before and fantastic. Freudenfreude has rich lemon and honey flavors. Still some bitterness and not too sweet. Nothing but good things to say. Convivio leans more toward a pilsner as expected. A bit more floral and bitter. Both are DDH and drink extremely hoppy. Digging this style. Two of my favorite hoppy lagers from the summer.

Hello BAs! Thanks @belvedere86 for today's thread. Oppressively hot and humid here today. So much so that I unplugged the garage beer fridge to ease up on the power grid. Every little bit helps. Been outside a few times already and I can handle the heat 15-20 minutes but then my body tells me to get the hell away from the heat. Scary. I've 7 new songs to learn yet for some drums tmrw night at The Schooner. 32 songs total. Beer time. Need to focus on something else! Paulaner Salvator Doppelbock. A pleasure to have but honestly I like the Ayinger Celebrator a bit more. Salvator is sweet. Cheers!
