    Michigan Saisons That Don't Need Their Own Thread:

    In the past I've complained about the puckering punishment of the fruited sours Speciation from Grand Rapids puts out.

    Well, their non-fruited Saisons are pretty great, it turns out, and one is FANTASTIC. Rogue Cells is Saison aged in white wine barrels, available as a single bottle around finer bottle shops in Chicago (got mine at Bottles & Cans) and it's bright, fruity, funky & balanced in a very enjoyable way.

    I'd pick one up if I were you! In fact, I plan to pick up a few more.

    They also have a canned saison out called Genetic Drift that I found tasty.

    Awesome. Grabbed these two along with the pomegranate one that was part of this drop. Very excited to try!

    Drift is what made me fall in love with speciation. Batch 1 was mosaic & saaz. I was in love. Batch 2 was the same combo but doubled. Also amazing.

    It’s a cool series, but it original is still the best. Haven’t got to drink every version, but that mosaic saaz marriage was worth putting in the permanent rotation.

    Got to go to the Is/Was Levain release yesterday - it was a blast.

    If you see any of the 2023 bottles I highly recommend grabbing them. They're all good, but the bergamot and the raspberry variants are on a different level.
