2023 Fort Myers Brewing ‘Barley Know Ya’ Blackberry Brandy Barrel Aged Barleywine. 11.2% ABV.

16.9 oz black wax sealed bottle poured at 65° into a Bourbon County snifter.
Nice dense brown mud colored brew gave up a stuborn but natty fizz jet.
Aroma - yes! - aroma., blackberries slap ya right on the top of ya nose. Lush, sweet. A horn pull fills the mouth completely. Malty caramel jumps up, a touch of prune, a hop whisper, a little fizz dance at the end. And then the ABV says hello goodbye, mic drop.,.
Mouth is lush, not syrupy, light but lively carbonation. End of the bottle brought a sensational silt that made the experience extra rewarding.
Overall, Nice to see a barley wine put into something other than a whiskey barrel.
These Blackberry Brandy barrels came, I heard locally, as a rarity.
Fort Myers Brewing slayed this one!

Trying to sneak one in today, it’s been an odd day but now I’m done with it.
So tonight I had a beer that was given to me by a friend I met on Imgur, and we swap blind boxes back and forth.
Who Cooks For You is a hazy IPA from Jackie O’s and it was just odd enough to work for me today.

That color had me wondering if I was going to get lemonade or Mountain Dew. Neither as it turns out, though I wouldn’t swear that it didn’t have lemon in the citrus part of the flavor.
It was nicely balanced between the aforementioned citrus notes and some piney bitterness that made it very refreshing and easy to drink.
The feel was light and crisp, not hazy like, just too easy to drink.
OA, I tend to buy beers in singles as I seldom lack having new to me beers that I need to drink but this one would alternate with one from yesterday as a summer regular. Low ABV @ 5% makes it almost sessionable.
Well, that’s me out. Have an awesome Sunday evening!

16 oz can canned 7/5/23 into a nonic pint glass.
L: Pours hazed smooth whitish gold with a thin eggshell white head that has OK retention, low fine carbo, good sticky lacing with light banding.
S: Pineapple, citrus, mango, slight catty dankness, earthy fruits.
T: Lightly sweet citrus, pineapple, mango, very light citrus zest, flaked oats, light peach, a light scrape of dankness, light sweet malts on the lips and affably tart in the finish. There's a quick gush of fruit.
F: Smooth, gently creamy medium-bodied lightly juicy feel with a medium-length finish that is not dry at all.
O: Hidden alcohol. Amazing. Fantastic tasting & feeling. Drinks extremely easy at 7.5% ABV and I drank this pint with gulps. Quite fruity and masterfully brewed. One of the best tasting HIPAs I've had. It is world-class in its style.
