    Drinking a Ja Puita! (Juicy Lager) at Naughty Brgr. It’s their house beer brewed by RPS Brewing in Kuopio, Finland. Crispy, hoppy, and juicy.

    According to a trusty old genetic test, I'm about 15% Nordic heritage- along with the base-line standard of 1% North African- and I do find that I have a proclivity for the North Sea nations. Damn if those Finnish beers don't look very tasty. I remember from many years ago that the Danish, Swedish, and Norwegians were very healthy imbibers,,,,,,

    A thunderstorm is threatening…I’m inside for the morning, perhaps the day…thermometer on balcony already reads 90°…trying another beer I picked up at Jackie O’s, Athens OH - Bourbon Barrel Dark Apparition, impy stout:

    Bottled 2023. Purchased at brewery 6/24/23. Poured at 56°. Glassware courtesy of @GrumpyGas Bourbon and chocolate nose/taste. Some oak, vanilla and stone fruit as beer warms. Minimal mouth warmth, 13.2%, drinks thin for abv. Very good…

    Another day of futzing around. Cheers y’all!

    Poured a very dark brown yet clear color, opaque in the glass; crowned with a thick, dense, light khaki colored head, long lasting. Fine dark malt aroma, mildly sweet with cocoa-like tones; mocha. Beautiful flavor, rich and gently sweet; light milk chocolate; moderate, rounded bitterness balancing the sweetness; a touch of vanilla; grain char bitterness. Medium body; silky smooth with the residual sugars.

    A nice, well-rounded beer and a beautiful take on a classic dark lager style.

    This is such an overlooked IIPA. This one is around 6 weeks old, and doesn't have the slightest hint of staleness. Drinks waaaaaay to easy for a 9% beast.

    @Todd it's great to be able to see you join us "early" in the day! (Early for us. :wink: ).

    Hello BAs! @DoctorZombies thanks for 3936. Yesterday was super fine and I tried 2 of the most gorgeous beers, both from Barrel Theory. Just blew me away. I wanna save some for my buddy Citizen Bob who has an appointment at El Kabong this Sunday. My goal is to get him to become a BA member. Earlier attemps have failed but times have changed and I'm not gonna give up. Today is sunny and hot here and seeing as I drum tomorrow night I'll have some brews today. :sunglasses: Great to be here again! Tucher Rotbier. Last one in the stube. Fantastic beer! Prosit!!:beers::beers:

    Good morning, Beer Advocate! :sunglasses: (11:24 AM here)

    I don't normally drink this early but since I'm off today and have no plans to go anywhere, figured I might as well crack a cold one! I really wanted a stout, but apparently I drank the last of them and forgot to buy more. :slight_frown:
    So this fruity IPA will have to do.
    I still don't want to get intoxicated as I have stuff to do throughout the day, but most of it is just normal household chores. Cheers!

    At Lot Has Changed. An imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels for three years. At 3 Sheeps Brewing. On the way to see Pantera. Though it is not the same band, I am incredibly excited!
