Bumping this thread to see how things are going in VT. The national media and local media here in MA have long since moved on to other subjects. Are roads throughout the state in good shape? I hope Rt. 100, Rt. 15 and others weren’t terribly damaged. How are things going in Montpellier?

I live in Hardwick and all major routes are open near me. Definitely some smaller side roads still closed, but 100, 2, 14, 15, and 16 are all open. Some are still a little rough and have single lanes/traffic lights in spots, but overall, its quite impressive how quickly they got roads functional again. I can't speak for most of the Montpelier/Barre area, but I drove through on my way home on Saturday and roads are open. All that said, the destruction from flooding and mudslides will be visible for quite some time.

I dropped off 89 at Memorial Drive in Montpelier yesterday on my way back from Montreal and it's still looking pretty post-apocalyptic down by the capital - State Street's barricaded and there are piles of rubble and debris piled up around. I gawked for a few minutes, then went down to the next exit and just grabbed a cold tuna sandwich (and a 4-pack of Heady!) from the Circle K.

Last week The Alchemist & Hill Farmstead brewed and canned a 7% abv IPA called Flood Relief. I think the name of the beer explains everything. Think Heady Topper meets Edward. There was a time that news like this would make the New England forums explode.

Might have to dive back in to the trading world to see if I can snag a 4 pack of this. Hard not to have fomo for a collaboration like this

Have you heard!? @prohibitionpig is re-opening today

The team at Prohibition Pig has been hard at work over the past few weeks repairing the damages caused by the flooding to the restaurant and brewery. Join them in celebrating their re-opening with canned beer, food, and live music from 5-8. The brewery is open 12-8 today and the restaurant opens at 4.

Great news about Pro Pig. That’s much quicker than I expected based on what I had heard about the damage.

There is a great article in The Boston Globe about the Alchemist, their commitment to the community, and their commitment to employee wellness. The article is behind a paywall, otherwise I’d post a link.

Wow. And here I am paying for it. Been doing so for years.

Nevertheless, a nice article about people and a business doing right by their employees. If only more companies would do the same.
