    ...the yard needs a haircut, but after surveying and weighing options this morning, I figured it'll wait until tomorrow...got some beef jerky drying in the dehydrator just to say I've done something constructive...drove aimlessly around town in the CR-V War Wagon a bit later...washed the dirt road dust off the beast, went to a cigar store (it was closed), and finally stopped off at a decent beer emporium....found this little beauty (man, used to drink Flying Dog beers a bunch when they were Colorado-based)...

    look: 4.25 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 3.75

    Pours a clear, dark brown color, opaque dark brown in the glass; thick, semi-creamy, khaki colored head, long lasting. Very faint aroma; traces of light cocoa and barrel wood; delicate roasted malt sweetness. Subtle flavors; sweet cocoa and dark roasted grain; fine, moderate boozy component, whiskey. Heavy body; velvety; pillowy; excellent alcohol heat offsetting the residual sugar sweetness.

    Overall, I enjoyed this beer. The taste and smell seem a bit subdued, but then, that could just be me. The Willett bourbon barrel aging is prominent but not overbearing. Generally well-rounded and decently complex.
